Home description
Rent part of a Farmhouse on the Island of La Maddalena. The building is at least 150 years old, with thick, whitewashed stone walls, high ceilings and twisted juniper beams. The place is most suitable for a couple looking for peace and quiet. An antique wooden cot and a high chair are available to accommodate a small child. The garden is very large, and shaded by olive, pine and eucalyptus trees, with lots of room for al fresco dining. Reserved for the renters of this cottage (25116), there is a private covered patio with a barbecue, and an area for lounging in the shade, with a view of the sea through the trees. A short walk takes you to a very lovely, almost private little sandy bay. The town of La Maddalena is attractive, and well served with shops, bars and a lively night-life.

The Sardinia region
A beautiful, largely unspoiled island, Sardinia is not only the image given by the jet-set people of the Costa Smeralda, but also a place steeped in history and ancient traditions. Green in mountains, hot in summer and surrounded by sea-scapes second to none in the Mediterranean.
La Maddalena area
La Maddalena is the main island of an archipelago on the north-eastern tip of Sardinia. Water-sports abound, the beaches are second to none and there is plenty of night life both on La Maddalena itself, as on the nearby coast of Sardinia, 15 minutes ferry-ride away. Beloved of Garibaldi, the island of Caprera is well worth visiting with horse-riding in the pine-forest.
The mountains and attractions of Corsica lie just an hour away by ferry from Santa Teresa.
How to get there
Suitable airports to reach us are : Olbia, served by Easy-jet and Meridiana from Gatwick and Luton (35 mins drive from the airport to Palau, 15 mins ferry to la Maddalena. Alghero, served mainly by Ryan-air from Stanstead, East Midlands and Prestwick via Gerona (2 hrs drive to Palau, 15 mins ferry to La Maddalena. Hire cars available in both Olbia and Alghero
The English owner of the property is available at all times, with help for anything you may need.
I am sorry to say that smoking inside is no longer allowed, following nasty damage....
When checking on availability, please do not ask for more photos of the place unless you are really interested in proceeding!
Conditions
A deposit of £100 is required in advance to confirm your booking. Confirmation of availability is not a booking! I cannot reserve the house for you until you advise me that you have sent the deposit to my account at the Royal Bank of Scotland (see Acc. No. and Bank codes below), after which I will keep your availability open for 5 working days. The transfer generally takes 2 or 3 days, and your booking will become definitive when the funds have cleared. IMPORTANT! When you transfer the deposit please ensure that you include the name in which you have booked, and the period to which the deposit corresponds, so that I can identify the payment, and confirm that I have received it.
I regret that this advance charge cannot be refunded if you decide not to come to La Villa.
The balance of the rent is due on your arrival at La Villa, in Euro, at the exchange rate which was valid at the time you sent the deposit.
