Built in 2004, this wonderful 160-m2 villa with saltwater pool is set in a flat garden amid palms, cork oaks and mimosas. The 1.9-acre property is located beautifully and privately on top of a hill with panoramic views over the sea, over the vineyards surrounding La Londe and throughout the Valcros valley. The west-facing terrace is the perfect place to enjoy leisurely lunches and evenings with a glass of wine or simply to relax, swim and sunbathe in the peace and tranquillity of Valcros.
Part of the terrace is built in, with stylish outdoor dining furniture, BBQ and a bar, with sun till sun set.
We are ten minutes' drive from all amenities in La Londe and Port Miramar, where excellent restaurants and bistros, a bustling Sunday market and visits to wine-growing estates are just a few of the rich experiences offered in and around La Londe les Maures.
Having three bedrooms, a private garden and wonderful saltwater pool with outdoor shower, the house is perfect for families and couples, offering the facilities - and some of the luxuries - of a very comfortable home from which to explore and enjoy this beautiful and fascinating area.
The house has a charming private courtyard/patio, with charming French outdoor furniture and sun from early morning till sunset.

The house is very well equipped.
The living room has an LCT TV; corner sofa for 5, with additional chairs. There is direct access to the garden from the living room.
The dining room table has seating for 10.
Each bedroom has a separate bathroom with shower. The master bedroom has additionally a bathtub.
The third bedroom is a comfortable separate apartment with indoor access from the house. The apartment room has a living room area with TV, a double bed and a large loft with additional 4 beds. The apartment has a separate kitchen with a dining table and a bathroom with shower.
The kitchen is well equipped, with a separate air conditioned food storeroom with washing machine and dryer.
We have air condition in the Master Bedroom an in the food store inside the kitchen. There is very good air flow through the house since we are located on top of a hill. All windows have steel gratings and insect nets, so you can safely have windows open.

The garden and terrace were designed with the Mediterranean life style in mind; in summer, the soft colours of the palms and flowers are echoed by those of the pine woods and blue hills beyond.

It is possible to park two cars in the courtyard/patio, inside the gate. Parking is also possible in the entrance outside the gate and alongside the road.
The property is located on top of a hill. There is full privacy in the pool area.
Short drives to the beautiful Golf de Valcros golf course and to the tennis courts in La Londe.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Var region
The Var area is known the best climate in France, with more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Better than anywhere else in Provence. For example, La Londe les Maures has on average 70 days of sunshine per year more than Nice. The summers are hot and the winters are mild and sunny. The La Londe area, surrounding the small and charming seaside resort, is known for its twenty two wine yards, olive groves and a beautiful nature.
The La Londe Les Maures / Valcros area
La Londe Les Maures are and the Valcros valley have a wide variety of activities:
- Play golf at Golf de Valcros (2 miles from the house). The course has 18 holes, Par 70, Orientation S-W, sheltered from the wind. Enjoy a meal in the clubhouse. Several more 18-hole courses are within easy reach from the house.
- The La Londe Sports Services offers catamaran, sailing dinghy, sail board, kayak,
- Skin diving (schools, first dive, courses, exploration, night dives, wrecks, certificates, equipment rental)
- Jet-skiing, sea-scooter, Hobbie-cat, canoe,

La Bigarade is a very pleasant villa with a nice pool and great views. The place is furnished and equipped like a family home so there was everything we needed, including washing machine and dryer, poolside barbecue and a good coffee maker. The property is in a fairly heavily-developed area with a large number of similar villas packed into the surrounding hills, but happily La Bigarade's location allows almost uninterrupted views over the countryside to the sea at Hyères - so once you're in the villa you don't notice the other development. We booked the place on less than 24 hours' notice, and the owner was very helpful in sorting out the paperwork, cleaning and check-in arrangements whilst on the road himself. Minor negatives were that the bathroom basin and kitchen sink fittings are a little tired-looking, and the quality of the bedding (particularly the pillows) isn't really in keeping with the luxury feel of the villa. Overall an excellent place though and I'd definitely stay here again. |

This July our family enjoyed one of the most magnificent weeks ever at La Bigarade. The house is quite simply magnificent: Located on the top of a hillside with the most amazing view of the valley stretching all the way to the Mediterranean. A view which we enjoyed almost all day long, either from the covered and cool outdoor veranda, or from the pool. And speaking of the pool: It is big and much larger than the impression one get from the pictures. The house is newly renovated and everything just WORKS! This is not a 'charming' old and worn-down house in France, rather it is a modern, stylish and luxurious getaway which will work just as brilliantly for couples as for families, even larger ones like ours. The only drawback I feel when writing this review is that I'm afraid it will be more difficult to rent the house in the future. But so be it, the owners are extremely nice and serviceminded and the house is just a pure gem. We have six children, so altogether we were 8, but the house was more than large enough. |

25% of rent to be paid at reservation, with a minimum of €500, due when rental agreement is signed. The remaining amount is due 8 weeks prior to the first day of the rental period.
A refundable Damages & Breakages Deposit of €500; or minimum 10% of total rent if total exceeds €5000, to be paid additionally with the remaining part of rent. The Deposit will be refunded within two weeks of departure, provided satisfactory inspection of the property.
