The villa is situated in a lovely urbanisation within a short distance of the community pools, tennis and padel courts and small restaurant. A 20minute walk or 5 minute drive takes into the centre of village with lots of local tavernas and restaurants.
Plasma TV, DVD player and multi play CD player. Double oven and induction hob on large central island. Glass dining table. Open plan with large glass curtains in lounge overlooking gardens and bay of La Herradura. Outside kitchen area with fitted BBQ and wine chiller cabinet. Large covered seating area, with sunloungers etc. Arrival time 4pm and departure time 10am.

The Costa Tropical is a beautiful, quiet part of southern Spain, with a sunny micro-climate, and average winter temperatures of 19 degrees and summer temperatures up to 35 degrees.
There are many rocky headlands, beaches and hidden coves.
From La Herradura-
...5 mins drive to the east is the Marina del Este, where it is possible to charter a skippered sailing boat for a day or half-day, play tennis, visit the lovely little secluded beach, with a fantastic chiringuito (beach restaurant) or wander around the marina and feed the fish.
....the town of Almunecar is only 10 mins away by car, or a frequent bus service, with all the attractions of a larger town, and also a castle, Roman ruins, an aquarium, a large open air market on Fridays, a waterpark with slides, wave machine, lazy river etc.
...nearby are the beautiful white-washed hill-top pueblos (villages) of Frigiliana and Salobrena.
....10 mins in the other direction is Nerja, a bustling town with the Balcon de Europea and the world famous Cuevas de Nerja (Caves).
....a few minutes further to the west (towards Malaga) at Velez Malaga is another big water park, and a big shopping centre (El Ingenio) with a cinema and 10-pin bowling.
....the city of Granada is less than an hour away by car and is well worth a visit, with the Alhambra Palace a must-see, amongst many other attractions.
....the ski resort of the Sierra Nevada is about 1 hour 15 mins drive, and the ski season usually lasts from Dec through to March/April.
....the Alpujarras region in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, is a beautiful area to walk and visit many interesting little villages.
...and Malaga itself, although most people drive straight out of it, has a lot to offer in interesting visitor attractions.
The La Herradura / Las Palomas area
La Herradura (which means 'the horseshoe') is a beautiful sheltered bay with rocky headlands at either end. The beach stretches for approx 1 km, and you can swim, snorkel, scuba dive, sail, windsurf, and hire a pedalo or a jet ski. There is a main children's playground in the centre of the village, opposite the beach, and small playgrounds dotted all along the beach, also a keep fit area with gym equipment for use by anyone.
The main plaza is a great area for children to play late into the evening, with bars and restaurants where you can relax, while your children safely play. In the summer there is a nightly artesans' market in the plaza, selling beautiful trinkets and souvenirs, also a bouncy castle every night on the beach.
In the summer there are pontoons dotted along the beach with diving boards, for the more able swimmers.
At either end of the bay are beautiful outdoor public swimming pools where you can swim and relax all day for a small fee.
There are many fiestas throughout the year, both in La Herradura and throughout the region, which are great fun for the whole family.
