About the home

My comfortable house is in a small peaceful domain in the Saracen town of La Garde Freinet, 20 mins from St. Tropez and beaches to the South. To the North is the Gorges du Verdon, Lavender fields and historic towns.

This charming village has many restaurants, bars and shops, as well as a bank, post office and a twice weekly market.

The villa has two double bedrooms, one with shower and toilet , the other with shower, bath and toilet. There is a king size bed in one bedroom, with balcony, and twin beds in the second bedroom. The ground floor sitting room has a log fire, is well furnished with widescreen satellite TV, DVD and CD player and doors to an inner garden (ideal for breakfast). The kitchen is well equipped and together with the dining room overlooks front garden and spectacular views of mountains and distant Alps where you can dine al fresco.

There is internet access in double bedroom.


Baby equipment provided, BBQ and linen service.

The house has 2 double bedrooms, one with king bed, en suite and balcony, the other twins also en suite. Two patio gardens one with stunning views to Alps.

Downstairs there is large sitting room, open kitchen with W/M, D/W, microwave and separate dining room. Widescreen Satellite TV, DVD and CD player.

There are many guide books and novels, etc in the villa.

Further details outdoors:
Although in a peaceful setting, the villa is two minutes walk into the town for morning baguette, croissants etc. or coffee in the many cafes. Many restaurants to choose from. The Tourist Information office is at the top of the lane where they will advise you on all aspects of the area together with details of the many beautiful walks in La Garde Freinet.

Further details

I have a housekeeper (English) who lives in the village to assist with any problems should they arise.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Var region

Pampellone beach and coves to the south (20 minutes), lavender fields, Gorges du Verdon to the north, La Garde Freinet overflows with charm.

La Garde Freinet is one of the most beautiful villages in Provence and is near a host of interesting places
to visit. Just under two hours to Italy, 90 mins to Nice, 1 hr to Cannes. If you don't feel like driving, you can drive to the station at Les Arc (20 mins) and catch a train to all the above destinations; even take a trip to Paris, only 4 hrs on the TGV. A short drive west will take you to endless coastal resorts including La Croix Valmer, Cavalaire, Le Lavandou, Toulon, Marseilles, La Ciotat, Cassis etc.

The climate is ideal, being really hot in the summer, it is the perfect location for sun worshippers and beach lovers.

Ideal for sunny winter breaks, wine tasting and shopping.

Apart from the swimming pool in Indigo, there is a very large public pool in the town.

The La Garde Freinet area

La Garde Freinet is ideally situated for both beaches (20 mins) and Provence country to the north, abundant with wonderful vineyards, lavender fields and towns. It has butchers, bakers, grocery stores, bank, post office and many bars and restaurants. Also a twice weekly market - Wed and Sun.

There are many walks with panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the Massif des Maures. Ideally located for Nice airport (70 mins), Toulon (40 mins) and Marseilles (90 mins).
