Home description
The apartment has a cabin style bedroom (1 double bed) with a concertina door across from the living area, separate toilet and bathroom (with bath and shower). Bunk beds in the hallway with a pull-out bed underneath to be used in the living area if required.
The living area itself has a table to seat 6 people a fully equipped kitchenette, including a rotisserie and a slow cooker (perfect to cook a casserole whilst skiing), plenty of storage space and a large (double) sofa bed. The apartment has a balcony with a mountain view and a lift to rest those weary skiing legs.
There is a parking space with the property and a ski locker in the basement. The area has fantastic skiing for novices and intermediates (41 runs in La Foux alone and another 24 in Le Segnius). For the expert skier there is plenty of off-piste skiing. There is a brand new 6 man chair lift in the village that whizzes you up the mountain.
The people are friendly and there are not the huge crowded runs like you get in the Northern Alps. The resort is predominantly a weekend resort so you can have the pistes to yourselves Mon-Friday (except French School holidays). There are other activities including ice skating, ice-driving, cross-country skiing and walking. The mountain restaurants and the whole resort is a lot cheaper than the Northern Alps as is the rest of the resort.
Apartment lies in the centre of La Foux

Alpine runs, snow parks and unlimited powder. There are traditional villages in the surrounding area and 1000 km of way marked trails through mountains and forest.
La Foux D'Allos / Haute Verdon area
Winter entertainment includes: downhill skiing, Ski school, cross-country skiing, kindergarten with children's activities, child-minding, toboggan area, ski excursion itinerary, snow shoeing treks, paragliding, driving on ice, ice rink, winter festivals and several discos.
Foux d'Allos is situated at an altitude of 1800 m and is a typical Southern Alps high mountain resort. Founded in 1937 it is entirely timber-built, creating a warm friendly atmosphere. The ESPACE LUMIERE linking the Foux d'Allos and Pra-Loup skiing areas has created one of the largest skiing areas in the Southern Alps, providing 235 km of pistes for the enjoyment of experienced and athletic skiers.
In summer you have a fabulous choice of activities to plan your holiday. "Paradis des Enfants" is a leisure park installed in a beautiful environment of greenery and proposes a multitude of activities and facilities: games, pedal-boats, canoes, archery, climbing, trampoline, mini-golf, electric 4x4s, quads circuit, golf driving range, giant chess board, tennis, basketball, downhill mountain biking with chair lifts, water sports on the River Verdon and in addition to a 15,000 m2 man-made lake with water slide for bathing and fun, for young and old!
You will be able to take advantage of more than 1,000 km of trails in the Val d'Allos that have been waymarked. Both experienced and less experienced walkers will find an outing to suit them, and it will enable you to discover the magnificent landscapes and natural setting that surround Allos. In certain places there are viewpoints of the Pelat massif and the Mercantour National Park that are unique.
The hike to Allos lake is a beautiful excursion: follow the D226 from Allos for 13 km, use the car park located at the terminus. Allow for approximately 1 hour for a leisurely walk to the lake, along a trail of discovery of landscapes and plant life. At the lake, you will not be disappointed by the grandiose sight of this mass of azure blue water nestling in the shade of a cirque whose naked peaks tower over a green carpet of flowers, larches and firs.
Experienced walkers (with the right footwear) will be able to go on to Mont Pelat (3,050 m) to enjoy the breathtaking panorama from this height and loop round from there to the Petite Cayolle pass and to the Pas du Lausson (allow for approximately 6 hours of walking with an altitude difference of 620m).

Further details outdoors: The balcony is large enough to seat 2-3 people with a table. There are lifts to the 2nd floor and the ski locker is based in the basement. The nearest bars, restaurant and supermarket are approx 50m.
