The Loire Valley region

We are in the NW region of the Pays de Loire. Set in beautiful countryside, La Bayette is ideal for walking, cycling, and visiting the coast of Normandy and Brittany. It is an ideal base to visit such attractions as Mont St. Michel, and the many medieval towns of Domfront, Vitre and Dinan.

The coastal towns of Granville, Dinard, and St. Malo, are just over an hours drive away.

La Doree

La Doree is very much dairy farming country. The small village has a popular fishing lake ( permits from the Marie) and has many walks. The nearest large village is Fougerolles du Plessis ( just 2.5km away. It has a supermarket, bank, bakers, hairdressers, garage, lake (with play equipment) and mini-golf.

The town of Fougeres is just 20 minutes away, and has the largest medieval chateau in Europe. It has many good shops, cinema and ten pin bowling. Just outside the town is the Forest of Fougeres, which has a large lake and beach. There is also horse riding in the Forest.

From the Gite at La Bayette, there is a circular walk, which takes just over an hour.
