The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Var region
There are sandy/shingle beaches all around and watersports are a feature of the area, with a sailing/windsurfing school neaby. Sea fishing and boat trips are available from Sanary, a five minute drive away. Sanary, 1.5 miles, has been described as the best-kept secret in France, the French keep Sanary to themselves, so very French ! Few of the locals speak English - You will need to speak french! The old fishing port, now mostly for private motor and sailing boats, has lovely portside cafes and chic shops and restaurants in the narrow streets behind. Golf is a 30 minute drive away. There are attractive villages to visit in the hills and the famous Bandol wine growing area is nearby.
La Coudouliere area
La Coudouliere is situated on the coast between Sanary sur Mer and Le Brusc. It is a mature parkland development reaching down to the port and beaches, with medium-sized apartment blocks tastefully sited among pine woodland on an 80 acre site with landscaped grounds. There is a large lake several hundred metres long, with wild life, reeds and lilies, and lovely shaded walks. There are restaurants and shops by the port.
