My son and I spent a fabulous 2 months in La Vieille Ferme...
My son and I spent a fabulous 2 months in La Vieille Ferme with friends and family visiting throughout. It is in a fantastic location, being only 1 hour from Geneva, and so close to the wonderful ski area of La Clusaz. It is in a fantastic location, perfect for skiing and walking. It is large and comfortable and we particularly liked the outdoor patios especially during March when the weather was so fantastic. We also enjoyed the walking in the area, the guided walks being especially well run and varied. The chalet itself is extremely comfortable and any niggles I had were completely cosmetic. The fact that it is on the ski bus road was an added bonus, as was the short walk down to the local boulangerie for fresh croissants every morning.

The chalet was warm and welcoming...
We had a lovely week, the weather was sunny, locals friendly [and patient with our faltering French! The chalet was warm and welcoming and full of useful extra's. A very relaxing stay, merci bien.

We had so much fun!
Loved the views and sights, they were gorgeous. The weather was great the whole time and we got to enjoy many hikes and other fun day trips! The house was open and great, easy for our family to run around in. Thank you so much for letting us stay, it truly made our stay in France special! PS The bakery and shops down the road sold things which were DELICIOUS!

Breathtakingly beautiful and quiet
We stayed at la Vieille Ferme with some friends in August and had a fantastic holiday. The location is great: a short drive from Geneva yet breathtakingly beautiful and quiet. Our children (aged six and eight) really enjoyed swimming in Lake Annecy, climbing the aerial walkways (which terrified Mum and Dad!) and horseriding at Thones, and skating at La Clusaz. They even liked walking in the mountains – possibly because, with the help of the telecabine at La Clusaz, you can organise things so that you only have to go downhill. Mum and Dad also loved the local restaurants and the sheer physical beauty of the landscape. The chalet itself is very comfortable and well equipped. There were nine of us in total (four adults and five children) and it was easily big enough for us to relax without feeling on top of each other. There’s enough outside space for the children to exhaust themselves and for adults to hide away when they get a chance, and a great bakery and small supermarket are a short stroll away. We would thoroughly recommend it.

Un gros coup de coeur pour ce chalet, et ce dès les photos sur internet! Une vraie ferme à l'ancienne, avec des matérieaux bruts (pierre nue, beau bois), et pourtant avec tout le confort possible et imaginable. Mon plaisir personnel: me lever le matin et prendre mon petit déjeuner sur la grande terrasse en admirant les montagnes. Après ce départ en douceur, la montagne s'offre à vous. Ne pas hésiter à se renseigner à l'office du tourisme (très serviable) pour les nombreuses randonnées et les ballades à cheval possible dans le coin.

Un beau chalet dans une belle région
Nous ne connaissions pas cette vallée malgré de nombreuses années d'expérience dans les Alpes. Nous avons bien fait de changer nos habitudes: Manigod est un bijou et La Vieille Ferme est un point de rayonnement idéal dans la région. L'atmosphère au village est détendue et accueillante, loin de l'accueil froid et impersonnel des grandes stations. Les pistes sont à quelques minutes de trajet, et revenir au chalet en fin de journée est un pur plaisir. Le confort, la chaleur du feu de bois, une grande terrasse pour profiter des derniers rayons du soleil... A réserver absolument.

Quel charme!
Bonjour! De notre avis, la Vieille Ferme est une location unique en son genre car elle offre une vraie atmosphère "habitée", bien loin des locations habituelles, froides et impersonnelles (quatre murs et un toit!). On sent que le mobilier a été choisi avec soin, il y a des livres, et des petits objets ... bref tout ces détails nous ont mis instantanément à l'aise. Sans parler de la belle cheminée, des chambres ultra confortables, le tout très propre et ordonné.
Quant à sa situation, elle est idéale: à 5 minutes à pied du centre du village, le ski bus est aussi à 100m, et les pistes sont atteintes en 5-10 minutes. Que demander de plus?
