This beautiful apartment is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday or as a base if you are looking to explore the many treasures of the Costa del Sol. It is located within walking distance of the Calanova Golf Course, one of the many well-reputed golf courses in the area. There is restaurant at the golf club, where reasonably-priced meals can be enjoyed.
It is a second floor apartment, facing south-east, with spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains (occasionally the Sierra Nevada!), the golf course and out across the turquoise blue water of the Mediterranean Sea (as far as Africa on some days).
The urbanisation is gated and secure, with disabled access and secure underground parking, with a lift to the apartment level.
The busy and popular former fishing village La Cala is a short drive away (4 km). Calanova Sea Golf is set within beautiful tropical and tranquil gardens.
There are two pools to choose from with easy access. The property is finished to a very high standard and includes marble floors, granite kitchen work tops, marble tiled bathrooms and fully installed hot and cold air conditioning. The kitchens fittings are of a high standard with designer named appliances. DVD, Satellite TV are installed in the apartment.
The famous La Cala market operates on Wednesdays and Saturdays and is a wonderful place to purchase local goods, ranging from locally grown fruit and vegetables to clothing, shoes, handbags, and pottery and other artifacts..
The Costa del Sol boasts over 320 days of sunshine and is popular all year round. Clean beaches in abundance, excellent local bars and restaurants, not to mention wonderful cultural pursuits - there is something for everyone!

Our holiday home has modern stylish furniture. L shaped sofa with coffee table, dining table with leather high backed chairs to comfortably seat 4 people, bookcase with assorted novels with integrated light fitting, TV/DVD drawer unit and a large sideboard.
Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes - one with a King Size bed, the other with 2 single beds. Both bedrooms have bedside cabinets, and blackout shutters to keep out the early sun or simply to keep the bedrooms cool during the day. The apartment is bright, clean, comfortable and airy.
The en-suite bathroom has a full-sized bath, with shower attachment, and wash basin, WC and bidet. There is also a shower room with wash basin and WC.
Our holiday home is managed by a local agent who is English, who will be able to assist you with any queries you may have and guide you with their local knowledge and experience of the area.

The property has secure underground parking. The lift goes direct from the parking to the second floor. The gardens are perfect for an evening stroll, amongst the mature tropical gardens, there are benches for you to sit on should you decide to take a break. The urbanisation is gated and secure with video phone entrance and is not overlooked. On a clear day you can see Sierra Nevada, the African coastline and Mijas Pueblo (a typical white-washed mountain-side village), from the terrace. The terrace, facing south-east for the early morning sun, is covered giving ample protection from the midday sun and is a perfect place to dine, read or simply just chill out with a glass of local wine.
Smoking is permitted only on the sun terrace, please. Apartment available for both holiday and long-term lets. For long-term prices please contact the owner.
No pets please!
My friend Sue will arrange to meet you on your arrival and show you around the apartment and ensure that you are comfortable with everything and know how to use all the facilities. Sue has lived locally for many years and has a wealth of local knowledge especially about where to visit and where to eat (not to mention shopping!).
Beach towels and sun loungers included - but please bring these back if you take them out of the apartment!
A booking is secured by an initial deposit of 25% of total balance. The remaining balance is to be paid 6 weeks prior to your arrival .£150 refundable security deposit is required to cover breakages, excess cleaning and electricity or loss of keys or garage clicker. Refundable within 10 days of your departure.
Please note that unless prior arrangements have been made check out time is 11 am on the day of your departure. Late check-outs cannot be guaranteed due to incoming guests and change over period. However we are happy to assist if at all possible.
Check in time is after 4pm unless otherwise arranged - if the apartment is empty the day prior then this does not apply.
The Andalucia region
The Costa del Sol boasts around 320 days of sunshine and is popular with holiday makers all year round due to the wonderful climate.
Marbella and Puerto Banus are the playgrounds of the rich and famous, famous for shopping, fine dining and lively bars to fit all tastes. The harbour of Puerto Banus is absolutely full of luxury yachts and fast cars. The restaurants along this strip are worth a visit, a bit pricey, but the cuisine is outstanding. Why not spend an enjoyable evening taking in the local culture?
Shopping is also excellent, El Corte Ingles is a modern department store, with designer goods and essentials. This is in Puerto Banus. There is also a El Corte Ingles in Fuengirola which is a short drive away from the apartment.
During the High Season Puerto Banus holds a lovely outdoor market, this is open until late and worth a visit.
When in Marbella please visit Orange Square, where you will find an assortment of restaurants and bars, meander around this area to find lovely shops.
Gibraltar is approximately 90KM drive away, worth visiting for Duty Free goods. Please check with our managing agent for the opening times if shopping in the High Street. In Gibraltar you will find a Marks & Spencer and British Home Stores, as well as many more popular High Street Chains. Perfume shops are a speciality. Morrisons is open Sunday until 5 PM and each weekday evening until 10 PM.
When visiting Gibraltar why not take the cable car to the top of the rock or a local mini-bus tour, when you arrive at the top of the famous rock you will see the apes, but be careful not to open your handbag for a snack, as they move pretty quickly and are quite happy to hitch a ride or pinch your snack!
The Sierra Nevada is famous for skiing during the Winter Season, and is a nice drive from the apartment, taking approximately two and a half hours.
Whilst in Marbella visit the Golden Mile and see for yourself how the rich and famous live.
Whilst visiting the Costa del Sol we highly recommend that you sample the local tapas, and beverages.
Seville is approximately a 3 hour drive from La Cala de Mijas and is a must-visit if at all possible. There is excellent public transport from La Cala in all directions and to everywhere you might like to visit (including Seville).
La Cala de Mijas
Mijas Costa is very popular with people from all walks of life, it has something for everyone, it is not difficult to see why people come back year after year.
La Cala (the creek) is a charming former fishing village. It now plays host to a wide and varied range of eateries and bars. Why not dine on the beach front in one of the popular restaurants? There is a Supersol and a Mercadona (supermarkets) and plenty of banks / ATMs. There is also a wide range of beauty salons, and a wonderful spa facility, this is the perfect place to unwind, and pamper yourselves.
The beaches are long, sandy and well cared for.
Fuengirola is a short drive away from the apartment, approximately 15 minutes. Here you will find shopping, bars and restaurants. There is also a Water Park and Zoo.
Mijas Pueblo is a beautiful village, steeped in the hillside and well worth a visit. Here you will find horse & carriage rides, donkey rides, craft shops, restaurants and bars. Mijas Pueblo is a very popular visitor destination, and a short drive from the apartment. During the summer months it is recommended that guests spend an evening strolling through the cobbled streets, maybe even pop into one of the many restaurants for something to eat or drink. The restaurants are reasonably priced and the ambiance is lovely. Recommended.
If you are looking for well-maintained golf courses you will find them here, the La Cala Golf course is one of the best in the area and certainly worth checking out.
There are plenty of recreational activities to choose from in the area.
The Mijas Hippodrome can be easily found by driving into La Cala and following the simple directions.
Benalmadena is a fairly short drive away, visit the pretty harbour where you can take boat trips as well as visit the famous Aquarium. There is also a telecabin for those of you wanting to take in the breathtaking views of the famous coastline.
if you fancy something a bit different then why not take a day trip to Morocco these can be easily arranged through a local travel agent. These trips are by ferry from Tarifa and are comfortable and the crossing takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour.

The pools, the pools, the pools. Clean, convenient, shade and sun, never crowded. Lovely quiet apartment, with no intrusive noise. Wonderful views of the Med from the terrace, lovely to sit evenings watching the sea get bluer, and bluer. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, skybox, dvd, plenty of books.
Excellent local town, La Cala.
Safe parking, lift to apartment.
Swimming towels, easy access by road to Malaga, Marbella, Ronda, etc.
Pleasant gardens to wander in and enjoy.
Wednesday and Saturday market in La Cala.
Excellent back up if something goes wrong.
