* Casa Hunter is ideally situated in a small and peaceful community on the slope above the former fishing village of La Cala. However, the beach, shops and restaurants are just a few minutes drive away. Situated between Fuengirola to the east, Marbella to the west and the picturesque village of Mijas to the north, La Cala is ideally positioned to explore the many attractions of the Costa del Sol.
* Families with children will appreciate the relative safety of this small community and the well kept pool less than a minute's walk away. Yet be within easy reach of the sea and sand.
* For the active there are numerous golf courses (Casa Hunter is adjacent to El Chapparal GC) and tennis courts near by (including Lew Hoad's Tennis Ranch just below the spectacular village of Mijas).

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The region's name says it all. The climate is such that you will be able to enjoy the seamless indoor/outdoor lifestyle which has made the Costa del Sol so popular for so many years. Although famous for its sandy beaches, clear skys, stunning mountain vistas and friendly local people, there is much more to this area of Andalucia. Historic Malaga with its striking architecture, the shopping opportunities of Marbella's Old Town (Orange Square), the sophistication of Puerto Banus or the picturesque 'white' village of Mijas Pueblo are all charming in their own way and worthy of a visit.
La Cala, Mijas / Las Adelfas area
Whilst "La Cala", as this charming village is affectionately known to the local residents, has maintained a level of the real Spain it has also taken on, in a small way, something of an international flavour. There is an abundance of good quality sports and recreational facilities in an around the village including gymnasiums, dive centres, lawn bowls and of course, tennis and golf.
Horse riding in the hills behind La Cala is a must if you enjoy this activity but if your interest in horses is strictly as a spectator, then the Hippodrome may well be for you. Recently built on the outskirts of La Cala, the Hipodromo del Costa del Sol makes for a great family night out.
For the kids there is lots to do such as Tivoli World, Fuengirola Zoo, Sea Life and of course the wonderful beaches and aqua parks all within easy reach.
You are sure to enjoy the wide range of good quality restaurants in the village itself or scattered in every direction close by. Ranging from the most simple to the more expensive they include Italian (Rigletto is recommended), Indian, Chinese, Thai, French and of course a wide range of Spanish establishments (try La Cala Grill). Prices are low in this part of Spain but the standard is high.

* Just fly to Malaga (Easyjet provide cheap flights) * Then a 30 minute drive along main, well signposted roads to La Cala. * Recommend CarJet.com for reasonably priced hire car directly from the Airport. * Alternatively, taxis are readily available from the airport which should cost no more than 50 euros * A road map can be provided showing the exact location of the accommodation in La Cala.
