Home description
Our aim is to present our privately owned luxury accommodation that provides the ideal base for a family holiday or golfing holiday: How do we know it is ideal? Because we love to go to the beach, sun bathe, take the kids out, go out for dinner and sometimes play sport including golf, tennis, horse riding and a wide range of water sports; we own a villa in the Mijas Hills less than 5 minutes away from the Mijas golf courses; we take our families and friends there on holiday and we all have a good time!
In common with other holiday property owners, when we are not using our villa ourselves, we rent it out to other people with similar holiday interests.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
As well as the option of simply sun bathing and making the most of the weather this region of Spain offers many places of interest worth exploring whilst you are on your holiday.
There is plenty to choose from whether you are interested in a golfing holiday playing golf in Mijas and other local courses, doing other sports, having fun on a family holiday in theme parks such as Aqualand and Tivoli World or simply exploring the fabulous scenery and history.
The Costa del Sol where Mijas Golf and our villa is located is in the far south of Spain in the Andalucia region.
To give you a clue as to how far south it is, the area includes the southernmost point of mainland Europe, Punta de Tarifa, which is a mere 14km from Africa.
If you want your night life to go on until dawn you'll need to venture out by car or taxi a bit further but are in a prime location to do so as it is only a 10 minute drive down into Fuengirola.
The lively resort of Marbella is about 25 minutes drive away and Puerto Banus is just a few kilometres further along the coast.
La Cala, Mijas area
A 5-10 minute drive from the accommodation in the opposite direction to Fuengirola takes you down to the quieter seaside village of La Cala.
La Cala is more of a traditional old style seaside village than many of the other resorts along the Costa del Sol. La Cala beach- the closest beach to the villa
La Cala has the nearest beach to the villa at Mijas Golf and you won't be disappointed by what is an impressively long beach with golden sand. There are a few beachside restaurants including the Mijas Playa Restaurante, the Arroyo and Los Delfines - a beach front cafe where a main course will set you back less than €10.
If sunbathing is your idea of heaven you can rent sun beds at La Cala beach from €2 a day.
There are no high rise buildings in La Cala and the main street is a wide boulevard type affair with lots of flowers and parking.
La Cala offers a good selection of small shops, a couple of supermarket and banks, so you can stock up on supplies for your luxury self-catering holiday.
The supermarket, Super Sol, in the middle of La Cala's main street is pretty good and is cheaper than Dunne's in Fuengirola (which we can also provide you with directions to get to) and offers a wide range of produce.
Having said that If you want to shop somewhere that looks and feels like Marks and Spencer's, Dunne's is probably more your place!
La Cala also has a busy market, on the road in from the villa every Saturday.
There are also a wide range of bars and restaurants on offer including Spanish, Indian, Thai, Chinese and Irish establishments.
The villa is situated in the hills just 5 minutes drive from Mijas Golf a few kilometres inland from Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol coast.
The immediate area around Mia Casa villa is secluded, tranquil and relaxing with stunning views views of the Mijas Hills and is ideal for family and golfing holidays. The perfect place for getting away from it all. View of Mijas Golf course
For the more sportif visitors, Mijas Golf boasts two first class golf courses, Los Lagos and Los Olivos designed originally by Robert Trent Jones. The Costa del Sol region has over 40 golf courses in total all within easy reach of the villa.
There are also tennis courts and other sports facilities at the Byblos Hotel (as seen below), which is located between the two Mijas Golf courses just 5 minutes drive away. The Byblos Hotel, Mijas Golf
In addition you'll find fishing, horse-riding, boating and water sports all readily available within a few minutes drive, as well as a Zoo, Water Park and Tivoli World, which will occupy kids of all ages for days on end. Aqualand, (Parque Acuatico Mijas) the nearest amusement park is just into Fuengirola on the road in from the villa - ideal if you and/ or your children like water parks you could try it for some refreshing waterslide and pool fun. Note - This waterpark is usually only open May-September, so it is worth checking locally if it is open. If you are out of luck, try the Parque Acuatico Aquavelis in Torre del Mar, east of Malaga, which is open all year.
If you don't fancy cooking whilst on your self-catering holiday, the area has a wide variety of restaurants catering for all tastes and the famous Byblos Hotel, where Princess Diana stayed is only a few minutes drive away, provides elegant dining and the chance to do a little star-spotting. There are also several other restaurants and bars within 5 minutes drive from the villa.
The Golf Club and Match Room right by Mijas Golf offer a convivial atmosphere, reasonably priced food and drink. The Match Room features live music some evenings and has a club sandwich that can be classed as "legendary". The Golf Club does a range of Tapas and full meals to a variety of British and continental styles.
The restaurant El Golf, at the edge of the Mijas Golf development, features a range of dishes from steak to spare ribs (including a legendary fried Camembert starter), and will set you back about €45 a couple (inc. aperitif, exc. wine).
Probably our favourite place for steak and ribs is Las Morenas. This is an excellent no frills restaurant handily located on the edge of the Mijas golf development on the way from the airport to the villa. It is our usual first port of call when we arrive.
Other restaurants on the perimeter road around the Mijas Golf development include the the El Salvador restaurant in Hotel Tamisa Golf and Les Fuentes.
How to get there
There are several ways to get to the villa at Mijas Golf and the golf courses on Mijas Golf in Mijas Costa on Spain's Costa del Sol, it just depends on your preferred mode of travel... By Air
The easiest way is to nip down to your local travel agent or log onto the internet and book your flights.
The main airport is Malaga airport, which is only 20-25 minutes from the villa. There are regular flights from most UK regional airports to Malaga and the flight time is about 3 hours.
If you book on the internet, book a month or more in advance to get the best prices. Obviously, you' ll get the best deal if you take the time to shop around before buying your tickets, but it is worth looking at the following airlines websites to get information about flights to Malaga from the UK:
