Loire-Atlantique is part of the current region of Pays-de-la-Loire and a truly beautiful place woth of visit.
The local beaches are the most beautiful in Europe with La Baule ranked the most beautiful beach in Europe. Examples are Penestin, Pornic and the beaches of the Gulf of Morbihan. Places to visit are The Briere National (over 100km of navigable canals as well as salt marshes) and the gardens of Marais and Herbignac and the village of Kherinet.
La Baule area
La Baule-Escoublac is a town in the Loire-Atlantique département of France. It boasts the longest sand beach of Europe, which is 12 kilometers in length. The town hosts the Grand Prix de la Ville de La Baule which is a prestigious equestrian show jumping competition that is part of the international Equestrian Nations Cup series.
