The local beaches are the most beautiful in Europe with La Baule ranked the most beautiful beach in Europe. Examples are Penestin, Pornic and the beaches of the Gulf of Morbihan. La Baule area

Also worth seeing: the Grande Brière Natural Regional Park with 40,000 hectares of ecological and cultural heritage and treasures of mankind. You can go exploring on a guided tour, or by boat, bicycle, horseback or on foot: the village of Kérhinet, with restored old thatched houses and their interiors typical of the Brière region; the "Site de Rosé" (museum of marsh wildlife and plants, animal park in a 25-ha protected natural area); Ker Anas, the "duck village”; Crossac and Herbignac for megaliths, menhirs and dolmens over 5,000 years old, etc. Saint Nazaire (25 km) and its harbour: tour one of the world's biggest shipyards, the submarine L'Espadon, the ecomuseum, and the floating "Escal'Atlantique" show, open to visitors.
