About the home

5 double bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms, as well as two additional family bathrooms. All upstairs bedrooms have air conditioning. The large master bedroom has its own shower-room and roof terrace.
In the main lounge there are large leather sofas, a 40-inch TV (with Sky), and doors that open out onto the side and rear of the property. The dining-room comfortably seats six people, and can be extended for ten.. With large outdoor tables and other garden furniture, al fresco dining is also an option. The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped. There are also smoke detectors in the villa along with a first aid kit.

Stepping out to the rear of the property there is a large raised terrace comprising a further seating area with sun loungers, and an under-cover dining area for warm evenings, and large gas barbecue, 10m x 6m swimming pool, putting green and enclosed driving range.

All in all every effort has been made to ensure a comfortable stay for visitors of all ages in this large, fully equipped property just 150m from the beach.

From the picture below, rear view of El Descanso the upper terrace around the villa has been secured with gates to stop young children having access to the pool below.

The villa has 5 double bedrooms, two of which enjoy en-suite bathrooms, as well as two additional family bathrooms. All upstairs bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning. The large master bedroom has its own shower-room, roof terrace and a beautiful four-poster bed. There is a linen change every 7 days on bookings of 2 weeks and over.

In the main lounge there are large leather sofas and a 40-inch TV (with Sky), and doors open out onto the side and rear of the property. The dining-room comfortably seats six people, and can be extended for ten, and garden furniture is also an option for al fresco dining. The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped, with a 5-ring gas cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, separate storage freezer and microwave. The library contains a variety of genre, including over 170 autobiographies and biographies. There are children´s books, children's games and a selection of CD´s and DVD´s. All English radio channels can be accessed through the TV.

Stepping out to the rear of the property there is a large raised terrace comprising a further seating area with sun loungers, and an under-cover dining area for warm evenings, as well as a large gas barbecue. All this overlooks the 10m x 6m swimming pool. Fruit trees separate the pool from the putting green and enclosed driving range – keen golfers can choose from up to ten courses within an hour’s drive! By night the whole rear garden can be lit up, so swimming, dining and putting practice can go on well after sunset…
The property benefits from solar paneling to heat all kitchen and bathroom water.

The villa is closed off to the front by electric gates, and there is ample parking space.

The village itself is small, but during the summer there are many beach bars and a local supermarket to meet your everyday shopping needs, while larger supermarkets are 15 minutes away. For more nightlife the Port of Mazarrón is only 6 miles along the coast. The beach itself is only a 150m walk, and within a short distance there are small coves, sandy or stony beaches, deeper or shallower water, to suit all bathers. The bay is well-known for the clarity of the water, and as a result there are various scuba-diving schools in the village.

The Costa Calida region

This welcoming beach villa is situated between the historic city of Cartagena and the fishing port of Mazarrón, just a 50-minute drive from San Javier airport.

Historically the area is a fascinating blend of Carthaginian, Phoenician, Greek, Roman, Moorish and European influences, and the city of Cartagena is just a 20-minute drive away. The landscape offers great opportunities for cyclists and walkers, with the mountains of Sierra Espuña and a host of welcoming towns just a short trip inland. The area is a popular destination for beach-lovers, but the whole region (and the capital city) of Murcia deserves exploring and the climate and local cuisine make it an attractive destination all year round.

Murcia San Javier airport is just 45 minutes away by car, and Alicante 90 minutes. All budget airlines fly to these destinations, and pickup can be arranged although car hire is an easy and advisable option.

“absolute wonderful stay” With a party of six of us and a six month old child , I can only say " what an absolute wonderful villa to stay at ". On arrival we found the villa to be superb inside and equipped with all we needed for our weeks stay. Plenty of room inside for us all , the bedrooms were very impressive and again clean bedding waiting for us all. The large pool and the surrounding grounds are kept in an immaculate condition. With the pool being maintained every day, it was a very inviting place to be. All in all we will be returning back very soon to enjoy another very happy family holiday. Superb place.

“An absolute gem” The pictures do not do the villa justice!! This is a beautiful property in a lovely location. If you want to get away from the usual over crowded tourist areas, this is the place for you. The beach and clear blue sea are minutes walk away and perfect for snorkling. We spent the first two days of the holiday relaxing in the large warm pool and bbq-ing; perfect way to unwind. As a group of 9 adults, we found the villa incredibly spacious, clean and modern and one of the nicest villas we have stayed in. Our neighbour, Bernie, is a great, great man. He waited up for us with the keys when our flight was delayed and had stocked the fridge with basics. He was a fountain of knowledge and was always ready to help. The villa made our holiday! We all needed a break from the daily grind and having a home we could immediately relax in was perfect.

“fantastic holiday” The villa was brilliant everything we wanted the pool was amazing. the beach and restaurants only five minutes walk and the beach was lovely. Would recommend this villa holiday plenty of room for ten people. We had the best time ever. neighbours very helpful and the owner was very informative too.

This comfortable villa is clean, well equipped and maintained. It is situated in a quiet area of La Azohia and within walking distance of the village. The meet and greet services were excellent with support during the week from neighbours. We loved the large pool, plenty of space, putting green and walks along the beach. There were several good restaurants in the area. We would recommend this villa to friends or relatives.

May 2010 - The whole family thought that the villa and the hospitality we received were excellent. The villa was spacious and comfortable and extremely well stocked and the pool was fantastic - our children were never out of it! There were lovely restaurants within a short drive and everyone we met was friendly. We were driven to and from the airport by Bernie the lovely next door neighbour.
