Pino Casa is our rental apartment situated in El Pinar de San Gines development in La Azohia, probably the most attractive on the Costa Calidi. It is less than 500 metres from the La Azohia beach, which is perfect for children as it is soft sand and some pebbles. There is a communal swimming pool just by the apartment and gardens in the development. The Costa Calida/Murcia region
The Costa Calida is a fairly undiscovered part of South East Spain. La Azohia is an unspoilt idyllic Spanish fishing village on the Costa Calida where tuna is brought to the quay on a daily basis. It lies at the sheltered end of the large Mazarron Bay, just a few minutes drive away from Mazarron with its wealth of shops and restaurants. It is also 20 minutes drive away from the large town of Cartagena, where Hannibal landed with the elephants. There are no organised operators here and even at the height of the season you will be able to find virtually empty beachesin La Azohia and around Mazarron. The Costa Calida has an average of 320 days of sunshine per year, with average temperatures being 17°C in Winter and 27°C in Summer.
La Azohia area
There is a very slow pace of life in La Azohia. For those who wish to unwind, there is a spa at the local 4 star La Azohia Hotel. For the golfers, the La Manga Club is just 20 minutes away. Alternatively, there are a wide range of activities available for you to experience including, swimming, windsurfing, diving at all levels, sailing, boat Cruises, Golf, biking and river rafting
There is a wealth of interesting historical and geographical sites in the area. These include the salt flats, the largest lagoon in Europe at Mar Menor, mineral mines in Mazarron Coastal defence batteries, private lookouts, Roman and Carthaginiar at Cartegena, Moorish Architecture and Holy Cities.
The Costa Calida is known locally as 'The Market Garden of Spain' as it grows a variety of vegetables, fruits, nuts and rice. There is a popular Sunday Market held in Mazarron which is not far from the Pino Casa.

Review for: Apartment PinoCasa La Azohia (22373)
"This is a great apartment that meet our needs to a T. Really beautiful area of spain with no signs of any british pubs, restaurants. This apartment comes with a five star rating. Enjoy the beachs the snorkelling is great or relax by the pool, which we more or less had to ourselves for the duration of our three week holiday. Can not wait to return will defentely be back next year."

"superb apartment-real home from home.Spent a lot of time on the lovely roof terrace with a glass or two of chilled wine!! Even in July and August the beach wasn't crowded. Lovely local restaurants can recommend the fish. Unspoilt area hope it can keep its charm, local people very helpful. Would definitely recommend this apartment and area for a relaxing quiet holiday, would love to come back in the winter."
"Very nice apartment very well equipped. Located in a lovely peaceful area, pool outside the window and 5 min walking to nice beach. 10 min. drive into bigger town with big supermarkets, shops and plenty of restaurants."
"Dear June Barclay I am happy to tell you, that we enjoyed every second of our stay at La Azohia. It is at wonderful apartment in wonderful surroundings. The apartment is perfectly equipped with everything you might need. We enjoyed the nights on the roof terrace. Kind regards Soeren Vad, Denmark (I hope, you can spell your way through my lousy English) "
Review for: Apartment PinoCasa La Azohia (22373)
"The apartment was exactly as described and very good value for money. It was extremely clean and comfortable with every whim catered for, and the dishwasher is very useful for families. A five minute brisk walk takes you to the beach and the lovely walks along the paseo. Mid April was windy and wet but we did have some nice days. Not much is open this early in the season but that said, we did manage to find places to eat out in Isla Plana and Puerto de Mazzaron, both places just a few minutes drive away. Plenty of good walking around and about and the 45 minute walk up to the tower on the end of the bay is a delight. You can see the whole of the bay from up there. Local food is good and in expensive and the bodegas have good quality wines at prices to die for and inexpensive wine from the barrel if you're thirsty ! I would thoroughly recommend this property and destination."
Review for: Apartment PinoCasa La Azohia (22373)
"Absolutely wonderful apartment with everything you could possibly need.Very tastefully furnished and decorated with no expense spared. There's even a barbecue on the rooftop solarium from where the view is stunning. There's a bar nearby where you can also get nice meals.Pam and Clive who look after the apartment are very friendly and helpful. This is definitely the place to get away from it all(We had the beach all to ourselves) but also has plenty of places to go within driving distance. The rates are very reasonable and the cost of living is really cheap. Will definitely be back."
