Situated 10 km east of Puerto de Mazarron, this little fishing village, La Azohia is a true "Retreat" (Arabic translation) along the Costa Calida. Take in the sunshine, stroll along the beaches, enjoy Spanish cusine in the local restaurants or take a walk in the foot hills of the tranquil surroundings. Either way this is the choice for a memorable, relaxing holiday for families, couples or individuals.
The apartment is some 500 metres from the beach, with its own shared swimming pool, local shopping is near by as well as restaurants, bars and other amenities including some stunning walks or bicycle rides in the hills around the village. This will be a memorable holiday with plenty to see and do during your stay but with ample time to relax and chill out.

The Costa Calida/Murcia region
Costa Calida, meaning the warm coast, puts claim to over 300 days of sunshine a year. The area benfits from a local micro climate that keeps temperatures in Winter well above other Spanish coastal regions and the sea breeze keeps summer temperatures comfortable. The area, part of Murcia province, lies between Costa Blanca to the North East, and Almeria, Andalucia to the South West. This is the place to escape to for an unspoilt, undiscovered part of Spanish coast away from the mass tourism. Here you will find magnificent colourful sunsets, glorious beaches, crystal clear water and great food. Murcia is famous for its local produce including Tomatoes, Oranges, Lemons, Olives, Peaches, Apricots and many other fresh products.
La Azohia area
The pretty fishing village of La Azohia is situated at the most easterly point of the Gulf of Mazarron, roughly 10 kms east from the bustling resort of Puerto de Mazarrón and 20kms west of the town and naval port Cartagena. La Azohia peaceful, tranquil and beautiful its palm lined promenade stretching for miles along the beach. The beach is 500 metres (5 minutes walk) from the apartment and ideal for families with small children. In La Azohia there are several small bars and restaurants, 2 diving schools, mini-market, chemist, panaderia (bakery), bodega (wine cellars) and canoes for hire. Several beach bars open in the high season. Further along towards Puerto de Mazarrón there are several scenic bays and unspoilt beaches ideal for families. Puerto de Mazarrón has a larger selection of shops, boutiques and supermarkets and a regular bus service runs from La Azohia. Cartagena, 20 minutes drive away is a medium large Spanish naval town with good shopping facilities, boutiques and an interesting history. Sports Activities include most water sports, swimming, every type of sailing, canoeing, catamaran, pedalo hire, windsurfing, water skiing, snorkling and scuba diving. There is a spa at Hotel La Azohia, where they do great massages/spa for very good value. There is ample opportunity in the surrounding hills for walking, jogging and cycling with several walking trails and mountain biking tracks. Other activities within 1 or 2 hours drive the theme park near Benidorm, water near Torrevieja and Rio Safari Elche - a safari park with all kind of wild life, El Saladillo Sulphurous Waters, Sierra Espuna Natural Park for wild bird life and deers and Granja Park - a fantastic day out for the children. Golf at the Hacienda del Álamo and Campasol.
How to get there
La Azohia is located just 45 minutes from San Javier Airport, Murcia and one and a half hours from Alicante. It is possible to hire a rental car or pre-book a local taxi from the airport if you do not wish to drive. There are a number of low cost flights available to San Javier Airport and Alicante, a selection of these are shown below. Low cost airlines Rayanair, Easyjet and Monarch fly to San Javier (Murcia) airport as well as Alicante.

Conditions
Deposit - a security deposit of €200 for the rental period is required in case of damage to the property or its contents. This will be refunded within 1 week after the end of the holiday period.
