The country road leads through the pine forest and you enter the property through private gates. The independent 3-storey villa stands alone within a walled garden, with plenty of pine trees for shade and dining al fresco in the summer. The pool is large and private and the whole place feels calm and tranquil. The accommodation is flexible as it comes in two parts: The main house has 5 bedrooms and two bathrooms (sleeps 8/10), while there is an apartment with separate entrance around the side of the house, which has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom (sleeps 3/4)
In July and August the whole property is let as one and you have exclusive use of the garden and pool so you can spread out and really feel at home here.
The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Vaucluse region
The town of L'Isle sur la Sorgue, just 3km away, is famous for it's numerous waterways and mills, for its many restaurants along the canal banks and above all for its antique shops. There are no fewer than 350 "Antiquaires", which makes it second only to Paris in the antiques trade.
Not far away there's St Remy-de-Provence, famous for its Roman architecture, Les Baux with its ruined castle and unique rock formations or Avignon with the Palace of the Popes. Slightly further afield, but still within easy reach you'll find Marseille with its famous waterfront, the Amphitheatre at Nimes and the cultured avenues of Aix-en-Provence.
L'Isle sur la Sorgue area
It's quite understandable if you just want to chill out at the villa, relax by the pool or sit in the shady garden. Plenty of games are provided including a ping-pong table, boules, a set of children's swings and a tree-rope for aspiring young Tarzans. There's even darts and chessboard.
If you're feeling sporty, the excellent Golf County Club is just round the corner, there's horse-riding 8 km away and the area is well known for great cycling and walking routes.
How to get there
By Car - L'Isle Sur La Sorgue is situated approximately 20 minutes drive East of Avignon and 40 minutes north of Salon-de-Provence.
By Air - Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 50 minutes drive away
By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 20 minutes away

Further details indoors: This is a solid and spacious 3 -storey villa that the owners have recently re-decorated throughout.
THE MAIN HOUSE has a lovely terrace which extends all along the south and west sides of the building. French windows lead into the living/dining room, which has a fireplace, sofa, two armchairs, TV and video-recorder. The dining table can be extended to seat up to 16 people.
In the very well equipped kitchen you'll find a dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, large fridge/ freezer and a coffee machine. The washing machine and tumble-drier are in the 'basement', which is on the same level as the garden. There is also a fridge, freezer, and microwave in the basement, which is very handy when you're dining outside or need cool drinks and ice creams!
The master bedroom and a second bedroom with two single beds both have french windows out to the south-facing terrace. The third bedroom with double bed looks out over the olive grove at the north end of the garden, while the fourth bedroom also with double bed, faces east. The fifth bedroom "under the eaves" should be regarded as over-flow - suitable only for hardy teenagers as it can get rather hot in the height of summer! It has three single beds but is unsuitable for young children due to the steep stairs.
There are 2 attractive bathrooms, one with a bath/shower and the other with a shower unit.
THE APARTMENT has a private little terrace and the front door leads straight in to the nicely furnished Kitchen/living/ dining room. The kitchen is well equipped and there's a small sofa, TV with video-recorder, hi-fi.
One bedroom has a double bed and the other has a single bed and a second single, which can be folded away.
There's a Shower room with WC.
Infants cot available on request.
The owner supplies all bed linen and towels and organises the end of stay cleaning for a charge of 180 euro. There is a refundable damage deposit of 1000 euro, payable to the owner upon arrival.
Further details outdoors: The large mature garden (4000m2) has about 30 pines and 30 olive trees. It offers plenty of options for sitting out (or lazing in the hammock!) either in the shade of the fragrant pines or soaking up the sun on the poolside terrace. The terrace can be lit up at night, and the pool itself has under-water lights.
