The Catalunia region
The Costa Daurada has 216 kilometers of beaches and is known as Spain's Golden Coast.
Reus takes 20 minutes and has comprehensive services and shopping.
Cambrils and Salou beaches take 25 minutes and they have developed into one of the main tourist areas in Catalonia, with facilities and entertainment for all ages, including various boat excursions along the coast. After sunset, they are the liveliest resorts on the Costa Daurada. Salou has karting circuits for adults and children, a bungee trampoline and a bungee rocket.
Port Aventura Theme and Water Park takes 20 minutes. It is Europe's second largest adventure theme park and is owned by Universal Studio. The big ride is the Dragon Khan, with its 70mph first drop and eight inversions. There are plenty of food outlets to cater for all needs. The indoor/outdoor Costa Caribe, the Caribbean-themed water park, also has a beach area and is an ideal venue to cool off.
Aquopolis Water Park near Salou takes 25 minutes. It has one of the most modern dolphinariums in Europe.
Aqualand Safari and Water Park near Salou takes 25 minutes.
Tarragona is the nearest large town and takes 30 minutes. It is the regional capital and has one of the finest examples of a Roman city. It has a well-preserved Roman aqueduct, cathedral, amphitheatre and museums. It has a good beach and excellent shopping facilities.
Barcelona takes 75 minutes. It is Spain's second city and has fashionable streets with cultural and tourist attactions. It has one of Europe's largest and best zoos. Parking is difficult, so it is adviseable to go by train.
Montserrat takes 90 minutes. It is the home of the Sanctuary of the Virgin and the Santa Monica Benedictine monastery, which, for nearly a thousand years, has been at the service of pilgrims from all over the world. Llieda takes 90 minutes. It offers mountain trekking, balloon and helicopter flights, horse riding, mountain bike or jeep excursions and river water rafting. The two information kiosk sat L'Hospitalet de L'infant will have details of how to pre-book before going.

L'Hospitalet de L'Infant
Within walking distance is a very popular buffet restaurant and bar on an 'eat all you can' basis. During the summer months, the restaurant provides outside family entertainment. Close to the restaurant is a children's play area, basket ball/netball, tennis and volleyball courts, a football pitch and two outdoor swimming pools. There is a charge to use the pools.
Close by is Vanessa Park, where there is a tennis club and a restaurant.
Within a few minutes drive is the beautiful Bonmont Golf and Country Club, considered to be one of the best golf courses in Spain. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr, the 18 hole par 72 championship course has wonderful views over the Mediterranean and a spectacular mountain backdrop. The Club is open to non-residents (handicap 28 male - 36 female). It has a superb restaurant.
Local places to visit:-
L'Hospitalet de L'Infant shops, marina and beach (with lifeguards in the peak season) takes approximately 5 minutes by car. On Sunday morning it has a market, which is worth a visit. There is a supermarket (Sumo, which is open 9am to 9pm, but when there are festivals, it is open 9am to 2pm) and plenty of cafes and restaurants. Also, two tourist information kiosks. One on right at the roundabout just past the medical centre and one opposite the hotel vistamar on the seafront. The staff do speak English and it is worth a visit, as they have discount vouchers for the main attractions and details of the local area. L'Hospitalet de L'Infant and the local areas have numerous festivals throughout the year. The details of these can be found in the Catalunia Life magazine, a copy of which is in the villa, or a copy can be obtained from the tourist information kiosk.
Miami Playa takes approximately 5 minutes by car. The resort has beaches and coves (with lifeguards in the peak season), beach showers and shades, free beach train linking local beaches, children's play area (with rides and trampolines). This is a beach which is never packed. There is always space to spread out and even in August, the busiest time of the year, you can position yourself at the waters edge. The beach is kept very clean. Sundowners and deck chairs are available throughout the summer for a small charge, although you are advised to take your own parasol. There are plenty of bars and restaurants where you can either snack or have a full meal. The quality of food and service is good in the majority of the beach you can choose to eat on the sun terrace, or in the air conditioned covered area. This is a popular restaurant and can sometimes be busy. There are large supermarkets, variety of restaurants, 2 bodegas selling wine from around 1 euro a litre, banks, cashpoints, bicycle, motorbike and car hire.
At Playa Crystal beach there are bars and restaurants facing the sea.
At Cambrils, the beach here is busier and with that comes more restaurants, bars, shops and McDonalds etc. There is also a small port with boat trips along the coast and again the walk along the beach is a pleasant one. There are children’s play areas on the beach and this beach is more populated than the one in Miami and L'Hospitalet de l'infant.
The largest supermarket in the area is in Reus and is the Carrefour. It sells food, clothes, electrics, CDs, bicycles and so on.
The nearest hospital is in Reus. The chemists in Spain ( Farmacia) will usually be of much help should you need medication for a sore throat, tummy upset etc. Antibiotics in Spain can be bought without a prescription. Within Miami there are doctors and dentists who you can – some of them speak English, some of them don't. It is worth familiarising yourself with where they are based and when they are available.

"Wonderful relaxing stay, lovely villa and location"
I have just returned from a weeks holiday, our party consisted of 4 adults and 5 children of various ages (5-15). The villa catered for our every need and was a great base for exploring the surrounding area. The swimming pool was a massive hit with everyone and it was lovely not to have to share it with anyone else! Early morning and late night relaxation in the Jacuzzi was also an added luxury. I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone, young or old.
Thank you for your lovely review and we are delighted to hear that you all had such a wonderful holiday in our villa. We look forward to accommodating you in the future if you decide to return to the area.

"Really nice villa"
We were 4 adults and 3 kids and we stayed 9 days.
The villa was great and we had everything we need in it.
The pool is really big and the water was clean.
The nearest beach is a few km away and we needed a car to go to the beach. You also need a car to reach the villa - we didn't see any public transportation.
When booking we received a guide to the villa and we easily find it(we came from Barcelona).
Ann is a really nice person and gave us all the details we asked for.
Thanks for a nice vacation.
We are so pleased to hear that you had a great time in our villa and we look forward to accommodating you in the future.

"Home from home, a short drive from amenities."
We have stayed in many self-catering accomodations over the years but have never experienced better quality or facilities than this villa. Despite booking late in the season we arrived at 41, Calle Orquidea to find it immaculately presented, thanks to the excellent services of Val and Mike, who also added the reassurance of locally resident, true english speaking, non-intrusive housekeepers.
All amenities we required were provided at the villa, including of course the excellent pool and jacuzzi, and we found the peaceful, if slightly remote, surroundings kept us on site far more than expected.
We found no evidence of public transport so a car is definitely essential. The only facility open at the "centre" was the rather expensive buffet restaurant, catering for lovers of local cuisine and getting to and from the property on foot would be hazardous for the less agile, especially in the dark, as the lane is unmade, rocky and steep in places (gave us an interesting trip to the bar with a pushchair!).
An excellent guide to the property and the local area is provided on booking and those with transport have a good supply of clubs, shops, beautiful countryside, beaches, markets and of course a day trip to Port Aventura.
We enjoyed every minute and wish we had booked for longer.
Thanks very much Anne, Peter and the team.
Thank you very much for posting your feedback and we are so very pleased to hear that you all had such a lovely time and we look forward to accommodating you in the future.

"Perfect Villa in peaceful location"
We stayed in this villa as a group of 2 couples and 1 toddler . In our opinion the villa was perfect for what we wanted . The villa is located approx 25 mins from reus airport and 5-10 mins away from the lovely beaches at L'Hospital de L'Infant and Miami Platja . Also within a short drive is Salou and the Port Adventura theme parks . The Villa is fully equipped with all appliances modern and working . The pool and jacuzzi are , as we found , a fantastic way to relax after a day out whilst the coals were heating up on the bbq . All in all we found the villa to be close enough to all the local amenities and tourist attractions and far enough away to have very peaceful evenings and a place I would recommend to anyone and will definitely visit again .
Thank you for your great review, hope to see you again in the very near future.

"Fantastic villa in a beautiful location."
We had a wonderful holiday and found the villa well equiped with everything we could have wished for. The pool was fantastic for the children, and very warm considering that it's not heated. The steps to enter the pool also meant it was safe for our small children, whilst the deep end enabled the older children to splash around. The jacuzzi was used every day and was also lovely and warm.
We did need the car as the owners state, in order to access the beautiful beaches which are just a short drive away. We bought an evening ticket to Port Adventura which was excellent value and we hardly had to queue for any of the rides. Aquapolis was good fun and the children enjoyed the dolphin show. We also went to Tarragona which was very picturesque and well worth a visit.
Thank you to Ann and Peter for being extremely helpful throughout the booking process and to Mike and Val for being so welcoming and friendly during our 10 day stay. We would recommend this villa to anyone!
