About the home

The villa is an elevated detached bungalow, on its own private secure plot, with an entryphone system. It is in a quiet location, between an imposing mountain range and the fine golden beaches and clear shallow waters of the Costa Daurada, WITHIN A SHORT DRIVE OR TRAIN RIDE TO PORTAVENTURA THEME AND WATER PARK . The villa is built to a very high standard and is very well furnished, with fitted double wardrobes and drawer storage in every bedroom. Access is via a ramp up to the entrance door, which leads to a hall from which there are 2 twin bed bedrooms (one with 2 extra single beds, suitable for adults, which can provide 3 beds in each room), a bathroom with bath and integral shower, toilet and pair of basins, the kitchen with fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and electric oven with grill and hob and the lounge/dining room with leather corner sofa, dining table with 8 chairs, board games, TV with part sky, DVD and video with films and stereo with i-pod doc. Off the lounge/dining room there are 2 double bed bedrooms, a shower room with walk-in power shower, toilet and basin and a covered terrace with table and chairs for 10 to dine with a perfect clear view of the pool through the glass and comfortable oak bench seating with cushions. For the months October to May there are glass curtains that can be closed to still enjoy the terrace and the warmth from the sun. From the terrace, there are steps down to a swimming pool (size approx 8m x 4m) with light, shower and separate jacuzzi. A level garden with BBQ and rotary washing line. Plants surround the villa with a driveway for parking for 3 to 4 cars to the side through secure gates. Garden furniture is provided.

There is off-street secure parking behind locked gates and a large patio around the pool for sunbathing and relaxing, with the views of the mountains both to the front and rear of the property.
The Jacuzzi is heated by the sun and is available between May and end of October.

Conditions

A £350 deposit is required with a completed booking form.
Final payment is required 12 weeks prior to arrival date.
There will be a breakages and cleaning deposit of £300 per booking, which is payable with the final payment.
All guests may enter the villa at 4pm on arrival and must vacate at 10.30am please to allow the villa to be cleaned for the next guests A late departure can be accommodated for a minimal charge if no guests are arriving on that day.

The Costa Dorada/Tarragona region

The Costa Daurada has 216 kilometers of beaches and is known as Spain's Golden Coast.
Reus takes 20 minutes and has comprehensive services and shopping.
Cambrils and Salou beaches take 25 minutes and they have developed into one of the main tourist areas in Catalonia, with facilities and entertainment for all ages, including various boat excursions along the coast. After sunset, they are the liveliest resorts on the Costa Daurada. Salou has karting circuits for adults and children, a bungee trampoline and a bungee rocket.
Port Aventura Theme and Water Park takes 20 minutes. It is Europe's second largest adventure theme park and is owned by Universal Studio. The big ride is the Dragon Khan, with its 70mph first drop and eight inversions. There are plenty of food outlets to cater for all needs. The indoor/outdoor Costa Caribe, the Caribbean-themed water park, also has a beach area and is an ideal venue to cool off.
Aquopolis Water Park near Salou takes 25 minutes. It has one of the most modern dolphinariums in Europe.
Aqualand Safari and Water Park near Salou takes 25 minutes.
Tarragona is the nearest large town and takes 30 minutes. It is the regional capital and has one of the finest examples of a Roman city. It has a well-preserved Roman aqueduct, cathedral, amphitheatre and museums. It has a good beach and excellent shopping facilities.
Barcelona takes 75 minutes. It is Spain's second city and has fashionable streets with cultural and tourist attactions. It has one of Europe's largest and best zoos. Parking is difficult, so it is adviseable to go by train.
Montserrat takes 90 minutes. It is the home of the Sanctuary of the Virgin and the Santa Monica Benedictine monastery, which, for nearly a thousand years, has been at the service of pilgrims from all over the world. Llieda takes 90 minutes. It offers mountain trekking, balloon and helicopter flights, horse riding, mountain bike or jeep excursions and river water rafting. The two information kiosk sat L'Hospitalet de L'infant will have details of how to pre-book before going.
Valencia takes 120 minutes. It is a vibrant cosmopolitan city.

The L'Hospitalet de L'Infant / Las Planes del Rei area

Within walking distance is a very popular buffet restaurant and bar on an 'eat all you can' basis. During the summer months, the restaurant provides outside family entertainment. Close to the restaurant is a children's play area, basket ball/netball, tennis and volleyball courts, a football pitch and two outdoor swimming pools. There is a charge to use the pools.
Close by is Vanessa Park, where there is a tennis club and a restaurant.
Within a few minutes drive is the beautiful Bonmont Golf and Country Club, considered to be one of the best golf courses in Spain. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr, the 18 hole par 72 championship course has wonderful views over the Mediterranean and a spectacular mountain backdrop. The Club is open to non-residents (handicap 28 male - 36 female). It has a superb restaurant.

Local places to visit:-
L'Hospitalet de L'Infant shops, marina and beach (with lifeguards in the peak season) takes approximately 5 minutes by car. On Sunday morning it has a market, which is worth a visit. There is a supermarket (Sumo, which is open 9am to 9pm, but when there are festivals, it is open 9am to 2pm) and plenty of cafes and restaurants. Also, two tourist information kiosks. One on right at the roundabout just past the medical centre and one opposite the hotel vistamar on the seafront. The staff do speak English and it is worth a visit, as they have discount vouchers for the main attractions and details of the local area. L'Hospitalet de L'Infant and the local areas have numerous festivals throughout the year. The details of these can be found in the Catalunia Life magazine, a copy of which is in the villa, or a copy can be obtained from the tourist information kiosk.

Miami Playa takes approximately 5 minutes by car. The resort has beaches and coves (with lifeguards in the peak season), beach showers and shades, free beach train linking local beaches, children's play area (with rides and trampolines). This is a beach which is never packed. There is always space to spread out and even in August, the busiest time of the year, you can position yourself at the waters edge. The beach is kept very clean. Sundowners and deck chairs are available throughout the summer for a small charge, although you are advised to take your own parasol. There are plenty of bars and restaurants where you can either snack or have a full meal. The quality of food and service is good in the majority of the beach you can choose to eat on the sun terrace, or in the air conditioned covered area. This is a popular restaurant and can sometimes be busy. There are large supermarkets, variety of restaurants, 2 bodegas selling wine from around 1 euro a litre, banks, cashpoints, bicycle, motorbike and car hire.

At Playa Crystal beach there are bars and restaurants facing the sea.

At Cambrils, the beach here is busier and with that comes more restaurants, bars, shops and McDonalds etc. There is also a small port with boat trips along the coast and again the walk along the beach is a pleasant one. There are children’s play areas on the beach and this beach is more populated than the one in Miami and L'Hospitalet de l'infant.

The largest supermarket in the area is in Reus and is the Carrefour. It sells food, clothes, electrics, CDs, bicycles and so on.

Medical
The nearest hospital is in Reus. The chemists in Spain ( Farmacia) will usually be of much help should you need medication for a sore throat, tummy upset etc. Antibiotics in Spain can be bought without a prescription. Within Miami there are doctors and dentists who you can – some of them speak English, some of them don't. It is worth familiarising yourself with where they are based and when they are available.

The local airport is Reus airport, which is served all year by Ryanair and during the popular season, by other charter flights, The airport is only a 20 minute drive to the villa. Barcelona airport is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes drive and is served by schedule and charter airlines.
By rail, the nearest station is L'Hospitalet de L'Infant, which is 5 minutes by taxi from the villa. More details will be sent once the final payment is made.

“Lovely Villa - home from home” This is a great villa for two families. Spacious and well equipped with great pool and outside area for BBQ and eating. Not much in the immediate area so need a car but very close to some lovely beaches and interesting towns. Would definately recommend and go again. “memorable holidays!” We spent an enjoyable week at the villa and in particular noted the following: Very friendly owners it was nice dealing with them with bookings and any further guidance as needed. The local English speaking contact was available for advice, and any questions we had, which is def a plus in Spain! Spacious, nicely furnished, modern interior. All necessary furnishings are there. Very beautiful bathrooms Pristine condition and very clean property Very nice size and pristinely maintained swimming pool, and Jacuzzi. Nice surrounding garden, patio area. Quiet location Short drive to the nearby town and the beach, surrounding areas are nice to explore, as well and Barcelona is within easy reach for a day out. High quality furnishings, nice quiet area, great service and very friendly owners who make sure you are well looked after. We love it and its suitable for families which suits us. We are just back from your wonderful villa, a real jewel. The villa and grounds were beautifully presented and the pool and jacuzzi were excellent. We would like to thank you for letting us use your beautiful villa. We all had a fabulous time. The villa is spacious and tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The location was perfect, it was quiet and the views were stunning. There was plenty to see and do in the area, but to be honest we all loved the villa so much we did not really want to go anywhere. We enjoyed having the pool to ourselves and the only problem we had with the children was getting them out of the pool at the end of the day. We would recommend you to anyone planning to visit this area and if we return to this area again you will definitely be hearing from us. Denyse & Chris, Plymouth.
