Home description
The house is situated in a former village, which can be dated back to when the romans entered the beach of L'escala to conquer the Iberean peninsula. Now, the 5 remaining houses is privately owned and in one there is a good restaurant.
Casa Paraquenta is a very nice country house with access to a big swimming pool shared with two smaller apartments (which also can be rented, one for 2 persons and one for 4 persons).
Inside, it is delicately decorated and in the big apartment there is a big dining table suitable for the entire group, if you rent the whole house. Everywhere there is plenty of space, and outside, the poolarea is great for the children and adults.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
Costa Brava is wellknown for its wonderful beaches. In the north, from the French more and 30 km. south, you will find small cosy beaches hidden between the rocks and with access from curving roads. In Roses and Empuria Brava you find classic "bounty-beaches.
Costa Brava is part of the Girona region. The capitol Girona is a lively city with 100.000 inhabitants, enjoying the life on the numerous squares. The city has a lot of history from the arabic baths to the juwish nabourhood. If you want to overview the city, the walk on the wall surrounding the city is very recommendable.
Culturally, Dalí is a central person, with his museum in Figueres, his home in Cadaquez and his castle in Puból. But the region has many interesting museums and exhibisions.
Although the beaches take most of the attention, the Girona province has much more to offer. There are many natural parcs in the pre-pyrenees worth a visit. Likewise, the flat area just before Costa Brava is excellent for bicicling. There are indicated routes and many quiet village wtih local restaurants.
Speaking of restaurants, do not forget that Catalonia is the province with most Michelin stars in the world and the home of the world famous El Buli. Many people come to the Girona province to take advantage of the many restaurants of high quality in all price levels.
Inland from Girona you find the cosy town Banyoles, where you can enjoy the beach of the freshwater lake. further up, you find the historic towns of Olot and Besalú. In this area you can also visit the Catalan volcanos.
A visit to the Girona province and the Costa Brava area can really be recommended. And remember that the 25 degrees in April, May, June, September and October can be much more pleasant than the hot summer. Even in the winter months, the province with its mild climate is an excellent destination. - And then there are less tourist to share the pleasure with!
L'Escala area
The house is ideally located for a family or a larger group, who wants be away from the mass tourism right on the beach, but still would to go to the beach and to have a town nearby. Furthermore, L'escala has preserved some of its antique charme, also after the arrival of the mass tourism. There is a cosy city centre with original houses and no tall hotels.
From the house, there are several indicated routes for walking of bicicling. Also, it is easy to go to Figueres or Girona for for a cultural injection.
How to get there
It is very easy to get to the house. There are three Airports nearby: Girona Airport (40 km.), Perpignan Airport (90 km.), Barcelona Airport (120 km.). It is only 25 km. from motorway AP7/E15 connecting Barcelona and France.
With public transport there are buses to L'Escala, 2 km from the house.

Further details indoors: Casa Paraquenta has four bedrooms and one bathroom at the first floor and a big kitchen with dining seats, a living room and one bathroom at the ground floor. The bathroom and the living room can be change to a suite, often used by elderly people for whom, the stairs provide a problem.
Two other apartments: The second unit (APARTAMENT) has two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a kitchen and a living room.
The third unit (ETUDI) you enter the ground floor level where there is a big living room and facilities for cooking. up, like kind of a balcony there is an open room with a double bed. In the ground level, there is a regular bedroom with a double bed.

40% deposit paid in advance within 8 days after reservation. By cancellation more than 1 1/2 month before 50% of the deposit will be refunded.
