La Mariona is a private and secluded villa in The Costa Dorada, Spain situated in its own olive grove. The pool is large and totally private and as you get ready to dive in you can see the magnificent views of the Med and Ebro Delta. La Mariona is just 5KM from the sea and the nearby fishing village of L'Ampolla. The villa is also only 30 minutes away from the Port Adventura Universal studios theme park - ideal for kids. The beaches are blue flag and there are plenty of golf courses, fishing (especially carp/cat)and water sports on the magnificent River Ebre, which winds its way from to the sea through stunning scenery and historical sites. take your choice - an action, sporty holiday - or a relaxing break in this place of historic heritage and natural beauty. The Costa Dorada/Tarragona region
L'Ampolla is a fishing village on the North east coast of Spain. Nowadays L'Ampolla has top class restaurants, mooring for yachts and cruisers from all over the world and even its own nightclub. L'Ampolla is located on the same latitude as Majorca and on a clear day you can see the island from La Mariona. L'Ampolla is part of the Golden coast or Costa Dorada which is fast becoming one of Spain's most popular resorts.
L'Ampolla's beaches have very different characteristics and including large sandy beaches, pebble beaches and small coves. (For more details look at the villa's own website - link below in contact details) There are two types of sandy beaches in l'Ampolla. Fine golden sands characteristic of the Delta region and beaches surrounded by reddish cliffs which, together with the blue sea and the green pine trees, create a landscape of great natural beauty. As for coves, along the coast you will find several, surrounded by an extraordinary landscape, which makes them ideal for those who seek nature and peace. In the centre of L'Ampolla the beach has been awarded the blue flag 3 times for its cleanliness. The village also has a volley-beach for the more energetic, and several nearby restaurants, bars and stalls selling drinks and snacks.

LŽAmpolla is just one of many beautiful villages along the Costa Dorada and within this region there is no shortage of things to do for the whole family. Water sports, scuba diving, quad-biking, riverboat cruises, beaches, nightlife... and of course CATFISHING. The list is endless. Sample the culture and nightlife of Barcelona or bring the kids to Universal studios Port Aventura with its amazing rides and shows. Try the water parks or just stroll along the delta enjoying Spain's biggest nature reserve. Maybe try out LŽAmpolla's nightclub and meet some of the locals.
How to get there
Ryanair flies from most UK airports into Reus (Barcelona) airport. At Arrivals are 3 car hire companies. These are listed on the villa's own website (via the link at the bottom of this page) or can be found by calling the owner. Reus is approximately a 30 minute drive from the villa Alternately, Easyjet flies into Barcelona airport - the villa is about 80 minutes drive from there. Further details indoors: Beautiful airy bedrooms all with either sea views or views of the mountains. Three are double with double beds. One is a double with two twin single beds and one is a single room with a single bed. There is a washing machine in the pool house and the lounge diner is fully equipped with TV SKY, HI FI CD, etc. The kitchen is also fully equipped with all utilities, crockery , glasses etc. There are two toilets and a walk in shower. The villa is fully alarmed. There is no need for air conditioning as the stone of the villa keeps the interior nice and cool even in the warmest weather. Further details outdoors: From the poolside there are great views of the mediterranean - on a clear day its possible to see Majorca in the distance. There a 8 loungers by the pool which is somewhat oif a sun trap. Shade is available under the roof of the pool room which is a good place to have meals. A BBQ is provided and fresh fish is available from L'Ampolla which is great to cook for the family. The pool iis large but sn't heated - it really doesn't need to be and you'll be greateful it isn't when you plunge in to get some respite from the sun. There's an outdoor shower and the villa and grounds are totally secluded within 4 acres og its own olive grove. At the frony of the villa are mountains - for great walks if you're feeling energetic. The road is the old Roman St Augustine road to Tarragona - rarely used these days. (see the villa's own website - link below under contact details)

You can come on any date at any time. Our maids are always available to clean in readiness for your arrival. The villa is 30 minutes from salouy and Port Adventura. The local beach at L'Ampolla comprise beautiful long golden sands although there are hidden cove beaches neareby and even a nudist neach a few miles up the coast if you're interested. The Ebro is famous for its catfishing and some enormous fish have been caught - Please look at our website via the link at the bottom of the page As always in Spain, the food is superb - especially the fish and fresh fish is caught every day and sold at the fish market in L'Ampolla. For breakfast I would recommend a little cafe overlooking the harbour...ask me for further details and have a look at the villa's own website (address link below under contact details)

We have a cot and high chair if you have a young child - but remember, wherebver you are swimming pools are very dangerous for younfg children...
