About the home

The house is situated in the quiet countryside and with easy access to the coast and to the Ebro Delta areas.

The rooms are nice and bright and airy and the master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom.

Guests are welcome to use the large roof terrace on this building and this gives super views of the sea and the mountains. The roof terrace is not supervised so very young children should not be allowed to play there without being accompanied. From the roof terrace you will have a wonderful view of the Mediterranean Sea, the Ebro Delta and rice fields and a backdrop of some beautiful mountians.

The Casa is ideal for a large family or group of friends and has everything you need to live comfortably.

There is plenty of off-road parking near the house which is around 200m from the road.

In the lounge there is a big logburner which makes the house nice and cosy in the winter.

You can have whatever combination of beds you prefer, e.g. 2 single beds in one room instead of a double.

The swimming pool is at the side of the Casita and has it's own sun terrace. The pool is not supervised so very young children should not be allowed to play there without being accompanied.

We do require a security deposit of €250 for Casa bookings. This is to be paid prior to your holiday to insure against loss or damage. With the best will in the world accidents do happen and we need to make sure everyone is covered for this from the outset.

The Costa Dorada/Tarragona region

Tarragona was one of the major sites of Roman civilisation in Spain and has many well-preserved sites of historical interest. Closer to us is the mighty River Ebro, world- famous for it's catfish and carp fishing. The Ebro delta is a wonderful place with a great variety of wildlife and birds including hoopoes and eagles.
There is an abundance of wine producing areas such as the great Rioja. Cava is made here too. Vineyard visits are definitely worth the trip.

Venture further afield to Barcelona and see the amazing Gaudi cathedral; the Sagrada Familia, or the famous Ramblas. Barcelona can be reached by express train in under 2 hours and costs very little (unlike British Rail!).
If theme parks are your cup of tea then there is even one of those: Puerto Aventuras, which is only about 40 minutes away by car.

The climate in our area is very kind. The summers are not blisteringly hot and the winters are not freezing cold. We are situated in the south of Catalonia and have got the best climate of all of Catalonia, which itself has better weather than many of its neighbours.

The L'Ampolla / L'Aldea area

Situated mid-way between Barcelona and Valencia, this is an area famous for it's rice production. The Spanish love Paella and much of Spain's rice is grown here. The region is rich in wildlife and birds and the scenery is stunning, boasting everything from high mountains to beautiful sandy beaches.

An area of outstanding natural beauty, the area is perfect for fishing, walking, mountain-biking, sightseeing or just recharging your batteries away from the stress and strain of the modern world. There are local sports centres and an indoor swimming pool only around 10km from us.

The nearest airport is Reus which is about 60km away. Ryanair, in particular, fly directly to Reus from most UK airports and Easyjet, Bmibaby, Monarch etc. all fly to Barcelona which is about 170km from us. There is a direct train route down the Mediterranean coast to the nearest small resort of L'Ampolla where we can collect you, as it is only 10 minutes away.
There are 2 main roads from the airport, the N340 and the AP7 and they both run along the Mediterranean coast, ensuring beautiful views of the sea before you reach us.
Although we are happy to collect you from Reus airport (for a charge to cover fuel) we do advise that you hire a car as the local towns, bars, restaurants etc. are not within walking distance. There are several car hire companies at the airport including Auriga Crown, Avis and Hertz, and it is easy to book these on-line from the UK. Just google "car hire at Reus airport".
We are situated in the countryside just outside the town of L'Aldea off the N340 and we are about 10 minutes from the sea.

“Excellent holidays with little children” We had a very good welcome from Simon & Amanda, they shared their passion of olive trees and their mad project. The Casa is comfortable, the garden is large and secure. We can't let young children on the roof terrace and on the swimming pool. It is well placed on the area to go everywhere on the delta or on the mountains. The car is necessary to go everywhere. We recommend this holiday stay. Response: Great to hear you all enjoyed your stay. 3 weeks was a good time to spend with us and we are very happy that you managed to visit so many places while you were here. Thanks for your interest in our farm and for what we are trying to achieve here.

Cost includes linen, and towels. We do charge €50 for the final cleaning but there are no additional charges other than a nominal cost of firewood for the logburner in winter.

The cost of a holiday for parties of less than 8 people is the same as above.

Please pay a deposit of 25% of the cost of your holiday at the time of booking, unless this is within 1 month of your arrival time when the full cost is required. The balance of your holiday must be paid 1 month prior to your booking date.

Any damage or breakages will need to be deducted from your security deposit of €250 paid at the time of your final booking fee.

Please help us by leaving the room as tidy as you find it.

Preferred payment is by UK sterling into our UK HSBC bank account or in Euros into our Spanish bank account, preferably by bank transfer to ensure the security of your payment or by PayPal, which has the benefit of being able to accept credit card payments.
