About the home

Casa Case is situated on a quiet residential urbanisation. Within a short drive are several Blue Flag beaches which rarely get crowded. There are numerous small towns and villages nearby to be explored and some lovely bars and restaurants where you can sample the local delicacies.

The unique layout of Casa Case makes it ideal for groups or extended families. It’s like five houses in one so you can have privacy within your group. The villa is fully equipped to ensure your stay is as enjoyable and carefree as possible.

From the Casa Case there are spectacular views of the mountains and countryside (and sea from the first floor veranda) which make this an idylic setting for your holiday.

For parties of more than 14 people, four additional folding single beds (suitable for children) and 2 travel cots are available on request at €30 per bed per week. We also have 2 high chairs available.

There is a large selection of books, DVDs, CDs and games available for your use.

Further details outdoors:
You will have exclusive use of over 4500 square metres of enclosed grounds which surround Casa Case. As you enter the main gate, there is ample parking for cars under shady pine trees. It is a single step up to the 120 square metre terrace which runs along the front of the villa from which you can enter any of the four guest suites or the main house. A few steps across the terrace takes you to the lawn. Plenty of sun loungers, chairs and umbrellas are provided. Set in the lawn is the 15 metre long swimming pool which gently slopes from zero to 1.5 metres deep.
In a lower section of the garden is a 4 metre long barbecue, a gravelled area ideal for alfresco dining (more tables, (more chairs and umbrellas are provided) and a boule or petangue court (boule are provided). There are also several paths (including a scented path) for pleasant strolls around the garden.
A few hundred metres from Casa Case is La Tasca, a small bar/restaurant (recently opened under new management). Beside this is a games area and children's' playground. Within the urbanisation is a large community swimming pool which is open in July and August. There is also a tennis court nearby.

Casa Case is managed by the owners who live a short drive away. We do not use agents or intermediaries. We make every effort to ensure you enjoy your stay in our home.

Two travel cots are available on request at €30 each per week. Two high chairs are also available.

Four folding single beds are available on request at €30 (suitable for children) per bed per week.

Conditions

Rentals normally commence at 4pm on the arrival day and end at 10am on departure day.

• If you are making a booking for a group, please make sure you have the agreement of all your group
• There is a returnable £300 or €300 damage deposit with each booking
• 20% of the total rent is required as a deposit on booking
• The balance of the rental and deposit to be paid 1 calendar month prior to the booking date
• For longer rentals, please enquire for rates
• Changeover day is flexible
• Bed linen and towels (for indoor use) are provided
• Weekly cleaning is included
• Pool and garden maintenance are included - 1 or 2 visits during the week

The Costa Dorada/Tarragona region

The Costa Dorada (golden coast) takes it’s name from the golden sandy beaches which stretch along most of the shoreline. The area forms the southern part of Catalonia which has a separate identity from the rest of Spain. This part of Spain is greener and enjoys a more temperate climate than further south.

This area is steeped in history and some of the cities worth visiting include Tortosa (medieval), Tarragona (Roman and medieval), Reus (birthplace of Gaudi) all about 30 minutes drive and Barcelona is about 1½ hours drive.

The Ebro Delta nature reserve with is wide variety of bird life is about 30 minutes drive. The river Ebro (home to record breaking catfish) also has excellent fishing.

The L'Ametlla de Mar / Sant Jordi d'Alfama area

The village of L’Ametlla de Mar (almond by the sea) is a delightful fishing village. It has lots of narrow streets and squares with plenty of bars and restaurants where you can sit in the sun watching the world go by.
There are several blue flag beaches within a short drive, including Sant Jordi which has it’s own Knights Templar castle.

The surrounding countryside is abundant with olive and almond groves. A little further inland the olive groves give way to pine forests and the Sierra de la Mar (mountains of the sea).

Other activities in the area include walking, golf, diving, wine tasting, gastronomy, museums, bird watching and adventure and water parks.

There are lots of fiestas and special activities, especially during the summer. Some of the local fiestas include:
May/June - Corpus Christi – where the village streets are decorated with carpets of flowers.
July – L’Ametlla - Noodle cooking contest
July – Tortosa Renaisance Festival – market stalls, street entertainers, dancing and more.
August – L’Ametlla – Rice cooking contest
Various free concerts during the summer

Reus is our nearest airport, about 30 minutes drive. Airlines include the budget airline, RyanAir and ThomsonFly.
Alternatively, Barcelona El Prat is about 90 minutes drive. Cheap flights are available with EasyJet, Monarch. Other airlines include British Airways, Iberia, etc.

Car hire is best arranged beforehand and there are numerous deals available via the internet.

The drive from either airport to Casa Case is mainly along the motorway. We usually meet our guests at the nearest motorway junction and escort them the short 10 minute drive to our villa. More detailed directions will be sent to you nearer your holiday.
