Home description
The villa's private garden offers direct access to the pretty communal gardens and large feature swimming pool. As well as its own private garden the villa also has a large private roof terrace. Inside the property, there is a lounge and dining area leading to an American style kitchen fully equipped with all the facilities you could wish for in a home from home. With its three good-sized bedrooms, the villa offers versatile accommodation for six people.
Vila Quatre Gates is the ideal location for a relaxing family holiday, or perhaps a base from which to explore the unspoilt and varied coastline of the Costa Daurada. Vibrant, cosmopolitan Barcelona is within easy reach by car or train. And even nearer to the villa is Tarragona, for those with a historic interest, Tarragona has preserved many remnants of its Roman past. Moving inland good quality roads carve through picturesque mountain ranges offering stunning views, and pretty traditional Spanish towns and villages.
Daily Ryanair flights to Reus airport, (only 30 minutes or so from the villa), from a selection of UK and Ireland airports make Les Tres Cales a convenient destination. As an alternative, you may wish to take advantage of one the many low cost flights into Barcelona airport, which is still only 90 minutes away by car.
To give you an even greater insight into this villa we now offer a virtual tour facility on our website. Please use the link below to go to our website, please contact us for further details.

The Costa Dorada/Tarragona region
The Costa Daurada/Tarragona region has much to offer, from the impressive Roman amphitheatre and sophisticated shops in Tarragona to the popular resorts of Salou and Cambrils. Salou also plays host to one of Europe’s largest theme parks, Port Aventura, which offers great fun for the whole family!
Barcelona is one of the Mediterranean’s busiest ports as well as the capital of Catalunya. In terms of culture, commerce and sport, it not only rivals Madrid, but justly considers itself on a par with the greatest European cities. One striking feature is the city’s famous Art Nouveau architecture, the most iconic example being Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece, the Sagrada Família. There are so many “must see” attractions for the tourist that it would be difficult to list them all. Possibly the best way to see the city is on the open top Bus Turístic that runs from April through to February on two routes from the Plaςa de Catalunya. You can get on and off the buses, or change routes, as often as you please.
For culture, shopping, whiling away the hours in a traditional tapas restaurant or even just soaking up the atmosphere on that most famous of thoroughfares, “La Rambla”, Barcelona has it all!
For a more relaxing day out, the delta of the Riu Ebre can be reached in only 25 minutes and is well worth the effort. Visitors are rewarded with stunning views and incredible beaches – in fact, the sand dunes were used as the setting for the film “Sahara”, starring Penelope Cruz. The major attractions here though are the world-renowned rare species of wildlife and birds that can be found in the 27 square miles of the delta that have been turned into a nature reserve, the Parc Natural del Delta de L’Ebre.
L'Ametlla de Mar / Tres Calas area
The villa is located in a quiet area approximately 5 minutes by car from any of the three lovely sandy beaches at Tres Cales – in fact “Tres Cales” means “three coves” in Catalan. There is also a small selection of bars/restaurants, a supermarket and bakers nearby.
A mere 5 kilometres away is the very traditional and quaint fishing village of L’Ametlla de Mar. This is the ideal place for browsing in the shops, enjoying a relaxing drink by the harbour or perhaps a more lively evening in one of the many bars. A daily indoor market sells fresh produce, and a twice-weekly outdoor market offers a wide range of clothing, footwear, bags and souvenirs all at great prices. Most of the local towns host weekly markets – one of our favourites is the bustling Sunday market at L’Hospitalet del Infant which is a 15 minute drive along the scenic N340.
How to get there
Daily flights with Ryanair to Reus operate from a number of UK and Ireland airports including Luton, Liverpool, Stansted, Glasgow and Dublin. Alternatively there is a host of low cost flights into Barcelona airport.
The villa is only a 30 minute drive from Reus airport using the AP7 motorway. Barcelona is a little further away – a drive of approximately 90 minutes. To get the best from the holiday and to enable you to fully explore all that the area has to offer we would suggest that a car is essential. A number of operators are represented at Reus airport, but in our experience the best rates can be obtained from Solmar. Car hire can be easily booked online at www.carjet.co.uk.

Guestbook
The Gill family Jul 08 - Thanks for a lovely holiday. The kids loved the swimming pool!
The Jones family, May 08 - We had a brilliant holiday, the kids didn't want to leave! The play station was a real bonus.
Mr Winton, Aug 08 - Villa is well-equipped and maintained - air conditioning good to have. Nice private terrace, and communal garden and pool. OK bar and restaurant just about within walking difference, so you can eat and drink out without driving. Shop next to the restaurant has most of what you need for self-catering. Choice of small but excellent beaches within 10-minute drive. Town of Lametlla has some good tapas and fish restaurants. As well as Barcelona, Tarragona is well worth a visit. Friendly and efficient service from Sara and Martin both before and on arrival. Description and photos on the website are accurate, honest and tell you all you need to know. Recommended for a quiet family holiday.
