Vila Quatre Gates
About the home
This air-conditioned villa forms part of a small private community set around pleasant gardens with a large swimming pool and communal barbecue area. The villa has its own private garden with terrace, outside dining furniture and sun loungers. Inside the property there is a lounge/dining area, leading to an American style kitchen that has all the facilities you could wish for in a home from home. With its three double/twin bedrooms, the villa offers versatile accommodation for six people.
Vila Quatre Gates is the ideal location for a relaxing family holiday, or perhaps a base from which to explore the unspoilt coastline of the Costa Dorada, the beautiful countryside of Tarragona province or the many and varied attractions of Catalunya as a whole. Vibrant, cosmopolitan Barcelona is within easy reach by car or train, whilst for those with a keen historical interest, the nearby city of Tarragona has preserved many remnants of its Roman past. Moving inland, good quality roads carve through picturesque mountain ranges offering stunning views punctuated by small traditional towns and villages.

Enquire nowThe Costa Dorada/Tarragona region
The Costa Dorada region has much to offer, from the impressive Roman amphitheatre and sophisticated shops in the city of Tarragona, to the popular beach resorts of Salou and Cambrils and the natural beauty of the Ebro Delta. Sports from cat-fishing to walking, cycling, golf and water sports are all catered for. The area also plays host to one of Europe's largest theme parks, Port Aventura, which offers great fun for the whole family!
Barcelona is one of the Mediterranean's busiest ports as well as being Spain's second city and the capital of Catalunya. In terms of architecture, culture, commerce and sport, it not only rivals Madrid, but justly considers itself on a par with the greatest cities in the world. One striking feature of Barcelona is its famous Art Nouveau architecture, of which the most iconic example is Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia. In reality, there are so many "must see" attractions for the tourist that it would be impossible to list them all here. Perhaps the best way for the first-time visitor to see the city is via the open-top Bus Turistic that runs from April through to February on two main routes from the Placa de Catalunya. For around 20 euros, you may get on and off the buses, or change routes, as often as you wish during the day. For culture, shopping, whiling away the hours in a traditional tapas bar, or just soaking up the atmosphere on the world-famous street of "La Rambla", Barcelona has it all!
For a more relaxing day out, the delta of Spain's longest river, the River Ebro. can be reached in only 25 minutes, and is well worth the effort. Visitors are rewarded with stunning views and amazing beaches - in fact, the sand dunes of the delta were used as the setting for the film "Sahara" starring Penelope Cruz. The major attractions here, though, are the world-renowned and rare species of flora and fauna that can be found in the 27 square miles of the delta that have been turned into a nature reserve, the Parc Natural del Delta de L'Ebre.
The L'Ametlla de Mar / Tres Calas area
The villa is located in a quiet area approximately 5 minutes by car from any of the three lovely sandy beaches of Las Tres Calas (literally "The Three Coves"). There is also a small selection of bars and restaurants, together with a supermarket, baker's, greengrocer's and a hardware store, plus a children's play area nearby.
A mere 5 kilometres away is the very traditional and quaint fishing village of L'Ametlla de Mar. This is an ideal place for browsing in the shops, enjoying a relaxing drink by the harbour or perhaps spending a more lively evening in one of the many bars and restaurants. As well as having all the usual facilities such as banks, pharmacies, supermarkets and so on, L'Ametlla also has a daily indoor market selling fresh produce, and a twice-weekly outdoor market offering a wide range of clothing, footwear, bags and souvenirs, all at great prices. Most of the local towns host weekly markets - one of our favourites is the bustling Sunday market at L'Hospitalet de L'Infant which is a 15 minute drive along the scenic N340.

Flights with Ryanair to Reus operate from a number of UK and Ireland airports, including Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin, East Midlands, Glasgow, Luton, Liverpool and Stansted. Other low cost airlines, such as Easyjet, fly into Barcelona airport on a daily basis from many UK airports.
The villa is only a 30 minute drive from Reus airport using the AP7 motorway. Barcelona is a little further away - a drive, (or train journey), of approximately 90 minutes.
To get the most from your holiday and to enable you to explore all that the beautiful region of Catalunya has to offer, we would suggest that a car is essential.
