The Isle of Skye region
Isle of Skye is renown for it 's breathtaking scenery and impressive mountain range. It is a beautiful place to explore. Steeped in history, with castles to visit, a museum of old croft cottages, many craft outlets, as well as our own distillery.
You can take horse treks, boat trips, and for the more energetic go mountain climbing, cycling, kyacking and many more outdoor pursuits. For those who like to chill out there are gentle walks, lovely restaurants and many pubs to choose from.
For the children, as well as enjoying the sense of freedom, there are beeches to explore, 2 swimming pools, 1 in Portree high school, or a small friendly one just over the bridge in Kyle. I am sure that you will find plenty to suit everyone.
Kyleakin area
Kyleakin is a small friendly village with a lovely little harbour. You can wander round to the old castle Moil which over looks the village and look across to the mainland.
The ferry from Kyle to Kyleakin was once the main route to the Island, but now there is an impressive bridge from where you can take in the surrounding area of both Skye and Lochalsh, and is a perfect place to watch the sun go down behind the mountains.
