A carefully restored , idyllic old country house in a tranquil surrounding.The house is 50 metres from the lake and the sauna with large terrace right by the water. Ideal for families seeking relaxation. Excellent possibilities for outdoor activities.

The house has two bedrooms, bathroom,large living-room and well-equipped kitchen. The spacious old house has been renovated with love and care to early 1900 century style. The Old Raatesalmi Farm is ten minutes from Kuusamo centre amenities and the Kuusamo airport.

There is a spectacular wiev over the lake and fields. The host family lives on the grounds and they can guide you to local way of life. You can possibly take part in a fishing trip or horse sleigh riding with the hosts or just go canoeing by yourselves. Get fascinated about the midnight sun or the silence of winter forest.

The Oulu region

Kuusamo - the old saami area - is situated on high land, 300-500 metres above the sea level. The climate is mostly sunny in summer and lot of snow and dry weather in winter. Nature is the biggest interest for the visitors. Hundreds of lakes, tens of rivers, few hundred km of hiking routes. 500 km cross country ski tracks.

King Carl IX founded the city of Oulu in 1605 in the mouth of the Oulu River. The Oulu River delta is an ancient trading centre. From a city of tar and salmon engaged in international trade, Oulu has developed into a competence centre of 130.000 residents, well-known within high-tech circles all over the world.
