The Aegean Coast region

This is the heart of what was once known by the ancient Greeks as Asia Minor, an area that's been drawing visitors since the time of, well, Homer. Izmir is Turkey's third largest city and a good place to get into Turkey, with regular flights to and from the U.K., Ireland and Istanbul. Near Izmir is the Çesme peninsula, home to some lovely sandy beaches and the cobblestoned town of Alaçati.
The area's heavyweight attraction, though, is the Roman city of Ephesus, with its well-preserved amphitheater and library. It was one of the wonders of the ancient world. It is really amazing standing in the middle of the amphitheater, speaking quietly and your friends being able to hear you perfectly up on the top seats. Definitely not a place to divulge secrets!!

Constructed in the area of 1800m2, the mosque has 550 person capacity. The main part of mosque is square-planned and covered by a large leaden dome- with the supports of 12 arches. Inner part of the dome is ornamented by geometrical designs and plant motives. The entrance door examplifies the best of wood- working of Ottoman, decorated with mother of pearl. Between the 16 stained-glass windows, are the oil paintings decorated with Ion styled columns.
"The Hanim Mosque" was constructed in1658 in the name of Haji Hatice Hatun, but was destroyed in 1922. The mosque was rebuilt by the inhabitants of Kusadasi between the years of 1951-57. The foundation walls of the minaret belong to the original construction. The simply decorated mosque is surrounded by a leaden dome. "Haji Ibrahim Mosque" exemplifies a different 17 century style of Ottoman architecture. The wooden ceiling of rectangular planned mosque is covered by roof tiles. "The Turkmen Mosque" and "The Camiatik Mosque" are the other sights located inside the centre of Kusadasi, in different districts.

Guestbook for Julie's apartment
Julie’s apartment is one of the most gorgeous holiday apartments I have ever stayed in felt like I was in a London penthouse!!….felt so at home I extended my holiday for a few extra days! The rooms were gorgeous and spacious and we had everything we needed that we didn’t need to go out! The pool is lush very cold but once you have been sunbathing in the heat it’s just what you need. Everything is in walking distance to the centre which saved us so much money on cabs. Without a question of a doubt I will be back to this apartment I completely fell in love with it.

Just got back from a months holiday in julies apartment in kusadasi centrum. We found the apartment very comfortable having two good size bedrooms, living area and kitchen. Everything there from home to home, couldnt fault it at all. The pool although was freezing haha was great fun to lounge around and have a laugh with a few locals.
Wednesday and Friday markets just on your doorstep, with the town and super markets also only being 5-10minute walk away, No need for public transport. Everything you need for a perfect holiday. We shall hopefully be returning again in a few months time as we enjoyed it so much.

I stayed in Julie's apartment for 10 days in January 2011 and it was everything I hoped for and more.
Everything we needed was provided- bed linen, towels, cutlery, cooking facilities.
The apartment was comfortable throughout and felt like a 'home from home.' As I was in Kusadasi in the winter, there was a few rainy days but we didn't mind staying in because the apartment was so cosy and we had the TV and DVD player to keep us entertained.
The location is super, and we were able to stock up on fresh fruit and veg from the Friday Market just around the corner.
I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone travelling to Kusadasi and will consider it myself the next time I return!
- Ursula, Belfast
I cannot recommend Julie's apartment strongly enough. It was a real home away from home with everything provided for us, down to the wine opener! It is extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated and in a great location. We saved a lot of money on taxis as we were able to walk everywhere, and bought most of our food in the Friday market and the bakery and grovery shop down the street. The managers were very friendly and Julie was very pleasant and professional to deal with. If you wish to stay in a self-catering apartment for your Kusadasi holiday, Julie's apartment is an excellent choice.
