The Aegean Coast region

The west coast of Turkey boasts the longest sandy beach in the country, traditional pretty fishing villages, archaeological sites and bustling tourist resorts. The most popular of these is “Kusadasi” meaning Bird Island. Idyllically located just 45 mins from Izmir Airport and 90 mins from Bodrum Airport, both of which offer regular flights from the UK ,Ireland & Europe in general throughout the year.

This vibrant resort is beautifully set in a bay overlooking the Aegean coast as far as the Greek Island of Samos. The Harbour welcomes daily cruises liners from all over the world making Kusadasi a busy shopping port with an abundance of jewellery, leather & Turkish Carpet shops. Along the main street, fronted by the “Caravanseri” this old castle dates back to the Ottoman Empire. The palm lined promenade stretches from the harbour along the seafront to the Yacht Marina which houses many luxury private yachts.

Nightlife in Kusadasi has something to offer every taste. For those wishing to savour the relaxed traditional atmosphere, the old quarter known as the “Kaleici” offers small cosy bars and local restaurants. Bar Street attracts the young and lively wishing to dance to the early hours of the morning. Along the seafront overlooking the beach, wonder into one of the many upmarket cafes or restaurants to savour the seaview and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Kusadasi has a typical Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters, providing a long tourism season with over 320 days of sunshine annually Ideal to visit at anytime of year.

The longest beach in Turkey runs from the outskirts of Kusadasi to the neighbouring areas of Davutlar and Guzelcamli, almost 28 kms of white sandy beach and a firm favourite for water sports.

Ladies Beach is extremely attractive with its pedestrian promenade overlooking the beach for those seeking relaxed atmosphere, fine restaurants and summer buzz.

Within easy reach just 20 mins is the ancient city of Ephesus which houses one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Located nearby you will also find the House of the Virgin Mary believed to be the last resting place of Our Lady. Selcuk's Ephesus Museum is well worth a visit.

Aquafantasy with its fairy castles, water slides and wave pools is deal for an unforgettable day out for all the family. Long Beach Aqua Park is approximately 10kms from the town centre.

Restaurants abound offering authentic Turkish food alongside cuisine from around the world.

Turkish wines are excellent and remember to try the Turkish national drink "Raki"

Talk a walk alongside the palm lined promenade especially early evening to watch the most spectacular of sunsets or stroll through the Kaleici with its old style buildings, shops and the more traditional bars and restaurants. " Bar Street " famous for its night life is not to be missed for a fun night out.

The historical Kervansaray with its traditional Turkish night is certainly to be enjoyed by all the family.

Kirazli village is also worth a visit and is easy accessible from Oliva Villa. It has many charming restaurants

and cafes. Kirazli also known as "Cherry Village" famous for its cherries and the "Cherry " festival in May is a must.

"Fantastic villa holiday"

We had a holiday at Cam Tepe Villa's Sept 2012 and loved the experience as it was our first time 'not' booking a package. After this holiday we are now confident to book and return again to Kusadasi & Cam Tepe Villa's this summer 2013. The location suited us so well, quiet and chilled out by day and so close to Kusadasi town for great evenings. There are lovely restaurants to try by the new Marina and also great designer stores with excellent prices. We took a day trip to Ephesus,it is only 20 minutes from the villa. We also went to Long Beach for a day, beautiful sandy beach and only 5 minutes drive so that is a must. Also, on recommendation we spent a morning at Kirazli Village for a traditional breakfast, go there hungry as we ate for at least 2 hours, will not forget the warm fresh homemade bread.

We found the villa spotless, tasteful and much large than we expected. It has all mod cons and 3 bathrooms made life very comfortable for everyone and no waiting for showers. It was fantastic value for 8 people and a private pool was amazing.Electricity was paid at the end of the holiday and was very reasonable, we used the 'Timer' on the AC Remote which work a treat . The pool is cleaned daily and the caretakers are friendly and couldn't help out enough. There are no other extras and no charge for cleaning at the end which we had expected.
Lovely, lovely location and villa. We highly recommend it.

Lovely to hear your comments and the joy of your holiday. The location and peace at the villa is ideal for a chilled holiday. The villa's are spacious and private with beautiful gardens and many fruit trees. It is the perfect example of 'real turkey'. We hope you visit us again and savour a little more of the local culture. Regards & thanks

"Lovely location"

The villa was perfect for us, two families plus friends. We hadn't hired a car but it really is essential as the villa is in the middle of nowhere accessed via a rough track, about 3 miles from the nearest shop and 4+ miles from Kusadasi. The pool was perfect and cleaned daily. Sharon was on site to answer any queries and arrange car hire. What was not so good was the 375tl we had to pay for electric, there is no mention in the villa details, on the Holiday Lettings site, of having to pay extra for electric. This along with the car hire were two expenses we had not budgeted for. Great villa as long as you hire a car, expect to pay for electric, are prepared to go off roading to get there and take basic supplies with you. But this aside we had a lovely holiday.

These were lovely familes who really enjoyed the peace & tranquility spending alot of time at the villa. The wesite states the location clearly and the 'nearest amenities' are 5km and 'Kusadasi Center' is 10 minutes drive which is accurate so they families choice this at the time of booking.

These famalies choose not to arrange carhire but it was difficult to arrange taxi's for 9 adults no matter what their location was. When they asked for assistance I helped out regarding carhire.

It should be noted, the villa was occupied fully (9 adults) and it was high season therefore Ac was used alot. Also the villa was used throughout the day and night as guests spend alot of time at the pool and only leave for tours and shopping. It also means basics like 9 people showering which could account for upto 18 showers a day/alot of hot water as there are 3 bathrooms, the dishwasher, cooking and all other electrical appliances. The Meter is read on arrival, the reciept is left in the villa and the final reading and charge is done on departure, the charge is only as per units comsumed by the guests in the villa. As Europeans it is maybe difficult to understand the usage & expense of AC units as it is not needed as much in Europe. Due to the high tempertures in summer reaching upto 50', it is widely understood in Turkey the expense of electricity and the amount AC consumes.

I hope to these families will visit again.

"Dissappointing !"

A family holiday can be very well enjoyed at Olivia Villas as the Villa itself is very spacious and well set out ,the pool is well maintained although a loose fitting pool light gave us cause for concern as it wasn't able to be repaired mid season, we did find many ants in the home regularly and spent some time trying to control this ourselves ..
Internet was not able to connect for the full two weeks which was very dissapointng even though a refund was made. ..

Most notable and concerning are the electric charges that the agent applies at the end of your stay , as this was our second year and after paying heavily last year we ensured the use of Air condition was minimal few hours only over the whole two week period but we were still charged 194.00 Turkish Lira(87.00 Euro) which we found to be unrealistic when we researched the cost of electricity in Turkey ..

It's also worth noting that the location is not easy accessible for taxis and is costly due to the distance and generally they charge more due to the difficult road surface ...
We will return to Kusadasi but not to Olivia Villas ...

I am very suprızed to read this review as I had met the family many times during they're stay and none of these comments were reported. The family are repeat guests from last year (2011) so they were very aware of the general set up of the complex, villa and it's location. They obviously returned because they enjoyed their previous holiday.

Firstly, on arrival I notified the family the pool light bracket had been broken by previous guests as children stepped on it climbing in/out of the pool, it had been checked by an electrican and it was safe to use. It could not be reattached to the pool wall as the pool would need to be emptied and as it was high season it would mean the pool could not be used for a few days. The family said they understood and accepted it.

I was not notified about ants at any time,it not a generaly problem and has not been reported before.

The Internet is provided via a 'Stick or Dongle', guests at the time of booking are advised it is for laptop useage, although some guests (as I am not technical)advised they have used them in an 'Ipad'. The family were advised and admitted they had a new device and were also not sure if the stick would work. They said they would check with a phone shop in town. When they advised it didn't word (due to the device not the internet connection/stick) I refunded them in full although at this stage, they had it several days. The connection was provided and was working but we cannot control or know which laptop/device each family will have, this is the guests responsibility.

The electricity charge is by meter reading and is noted on the initial enquiry, at the time of booking and also on arrival. A very clear document is left in the villa advising there are 5 large Air Conditioning units in the villa (220m2)and each remote also had a timer, electricity is charged by meter reading so it is only the electricity comsumed. The guests stayed in high season when obviously most AC is used more and temperatures are highest, a reading was done on arrival, of which a reciept is issued and left in the villa, the final reading is done on departure showing the full amount of units used. It is difficult to comment on this issue as the amount of electricity used amounts to the charge. In general bills are not so high unless the AC is used alot.

The family were very familiar with the location of the villa which has a country setting and is very peaceful, this is the reason it is so popular. We have many repeat guests and this family also choose to return again. The website states all of this clearly, the'country track' is also noted. The family do not drive therefore they choose to use taxi's both years(2011/12), I offer all guests without carhire(which we recommend)a reliable taxi company who have worked in the complex for sometime. I have NEVER heard of a taxi charging more due to the location or the track.

I am sorry this family left without mentioning any of their issues and even spoke to them on the day of departure, they told me they had a great holiday. If I had been advised I would of course done my very best to resolve any issue or would at least had the chance to do so.

I wish them the best.
Regards & thanks

"The perfect getaway"

We are all too quick to write when we have complaints which is why I really wanted to mail after our recent holiday. From the time we booked everything went really smoothly to our departure after 2 weeks. We absolutely loved the villa, it was well equipt for family dinners on the main terrace, we also barbaqued several nights, It was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The private pool was a huge bonus, the garden was private and had a large old olive tree for shade with many other fruit trees around the estate. We took lots of day trips and this was so easy because of the location of the villa. The main road which links everywhere is just 5 minutes away, We left the villa totally recharged and relaxed after a fantastic holiday and we definately plan to return soon. Thank you for a lovely experience. Also the care-takers who live on the estate couldnt do enough for us, cheers and thank you again.

Thank you for your review and your kind words. The process is very simple and we are really happy you enjoy the whole experience. It is our goal to make every guest holiday an enjoyable one. It's lovely to hear the villa was used and enjoyed so much and the 'peace & tranquility' was appreciated. It is a fantastic location and pure nature. We look forward to your next visit. All the very best.

"Villa With Pool"

Whilst the overall experiance was good , two items marred what should have been a good review. These items were mentioned to the relevant people within good time but they did not reply. Villa itself was very good, Care takers Ali & Vedat were VERY helpful , we could nor fault their cooperation. However , 2 seperate incidents occured during our stay that the booking agents did not satisfy a conclusion. Locks on the property were not all operational when we arrived , when further locks failed to work and we notified the company of the substantial inconvenience, promises to rectify never materialised despite numerous reminders.Internet access was also given even though it was declined initailly but this was not adequate for the situation (Tablet access) which was specified to the booking agent. They did however insist on this charge been paid for the whole period (2 weeks) even though only 1 week was given due to turkish phone laws which was unkhown to me.

We appreciate your review and glad your enjoyed your stay apart from the matters highlighted. Unfortunately, I was ill at the time and had to arrange help at the last minute therefore could not personally handle the situation. The internet connection was supplied and was in working order as normal, unfortunately the guests device operated for the first week but not the 2nd. It was not a fault of connection supplied. I was not fully aware of the details until after the guests had left and if I was personally there, a gesture of good will could have made the guests more comfortable. Regarding the door lock, the repair service was late/delayed as it was a busy time of year. For this I apologize. Rgds
