Beaver House (house)

Home description

Beaver House ia a new house built in 2005. The house has a big sunny living room with a lounge and open dining and kitchen. From the living room you have a beautiful view over the meadows. On the first floor there is scullery, toilet, and a double bedroom. On the first floor are three double bedrooms. Each room has its own bathroom with shower and toilet. The house has central heating fired by wood and in the living room is an additional firewood stove.

Lacsetas is set up as a peaceful country retreat. You can relax and enjoy the countryside or take on any one of a number of rural activities. Deer can be seen crossing the property early in the morning or a beaver may be seen swimming in the nearby river. There is also a stork family nesting on the property. Orchids grow in several places nearby and a pond for swimming borders the property. At the local Tourist Information Centre you can rent a bike and they have maps with hiking- and cycling routes available.

The Kurzeme region

Lacsetas is located about 8 km south of Kuldiga city in the western part of Latvia (Kurzeme region). The landscape is beautiful, alternately flat and hilly and therefore very suitable for hiking, cycling and other outdoor activities. There is a lot to see in and around Kuldiga. For example , you will find the widest natural waterfall in Europe (240m) and sandcaves and castles. Kuldiga is a city with a rich history. It has an old centre with wooden building, churches, a museum and a sculpture garden. It also a variety of shops, restaurants and supermarkets with a wide range of products. The Baltic coast with its sandy beaches is only 40 km away. At the coast you will find fishing villages and several excellent nature reserves. The harbour cities at Liepaja and Ventspils are also well worth visiting. The city of Riga is about 150 km from Lacsetas and you can go for a day trip by car or a public bus.

Ryan Air and British Airways are flying to Riga.
At Riga Airport can hire a car. Several companies are available.
