Cottage | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Welcome to Alegria – a Beautiful Cottage located in Marloth Park, just fifteen minutes drive from the Crocodile bridge Entrance to Kruger National Park. Marloth Park is a Wildlife Reserve, with Giraffe, Kudu, Zebra, Wildebeest, Impala and many more beautiful animals. There are no fences in Marloth Park, so the animals can walk freely through the park. The animalsare regular visitors to our Garden (as you will see from the photos). The fence to Kruger National Park is just a three minute walk from the Cottage. The Cottage is beautifully furnished, with some unusual (but wonderful) touches. It is more like a cosy, stunning home than a typical Guest House. The Cottage has three big bedrooms downstairs, all with En-Suite Bathrooms and Air Conditioning. Also Downstairs is the lounge opening onto the kitchen and to the large Terrace at the front of the house. Upstairs, we have a TV/DSTV room, with a sofa bed that can sleep two children. At the back of the house we have the Entertainment Area with BBQ, Splash Pool and Boma

The Mpumalanga region
Of course, the most famous place of interest in Mpumalanga is Kruger National Park. The Crocodile Bridge Entrance to Kruger Park is just a 15 minute drive from the House. There are Maps of Kruger in the Cottage, so please take a Map when you go. There is a Tourist File in the house, with Brochures of all the places of interest to visit in the area.
Marloth Park is both a holiday resort and a game reserve. Houses in the park are built in such a way that they are environmentally friendly and you walk straight from you house into the bush. There are no fences around the individual plots so local animals roam around freely. Hunting within the park is prohibited, so animals are not very shy. Within the Marloth Park area is a separate game reserve called Lionspruit where lions, buffaloes, rhinos and leopards can be seen. Guests to Marloth Park have free access to Lionspruit.
Our Cottage is a three minute walk from the fence to the Kruger National Park. When it is 'Sun Downer' time we normally send a driver to our favourite spot by the fence, with bush chairs, table, cold beer and the famous South African Biltong! We walk from the house to the fence, then walk along the fence, watching the Game in Kruger Park. We meet the car and sit and enjoy a cold beer or refershment. Form our spot, we have seen elephant (nearly always), rhino, hippo, lion, hyena, and the smaller game too. Always a perfect Sundowner!! The dangerous
If you walk along the fence to Kruger National Park, less than 20 meter from our house, you can frequently watch large herds of elephants bathing and eating in the Crocodile River. In the evenings, back at the Cottage we have our BBQ, normally listening to the Kruger Lions making a big noise (lots of good roaring), and the Hyenas.
we have a Splash Pool in the Entertainment Area to keep you cool in the Summer. There is also a big communal Pool at the Watergaat Restaurant. This restaurant is about 5 minutes drive from the Cottage and serves good food, lunchtime and dinner. The other good Restaurant is Phumula, which is again about 5 minutes drive from the House. Phumula does good steaks!!! Marloth Park has 2 good shops where you can get everything you need. There is also a Petrol Station, a Deli, and a Hardware Store (which we hope you do not need!!). There are good Tour Operators operating in Marloth that can organise trips into Kruger Park for your family, in an open Safari Truck.
For the Golfers, there is a Golf Course in Komatipoort (20 minute drive) and 2 Courses in Malalane (30 minutes drive). Malalane has a big Shopping Mall, if you need to do more shopping. There is a very good place nearby called Kwa Madwala, which offers Elephant Back Riding, Micro Light Flights, and has a very good SPA.
From September 2007 the gates into Marloth Park have been manned by security guards in order to increase security in the area. They will stop all cars for registration and control.on the area.
