Super-large Old Town apartment
Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 7
Its unusually spacious, light and high-ceilinged rooms have parquet flooring and old ceramic stoves. It's our second home, designed to be functional and comfortable - with satellite TV, fully equipped kitchen, central heating, big bathroom and period art deco furniture. Close to a range of local shops and restaurants. Great pastries in a little cake shop just outside.
The apartment is on the first-floor (one-floor up), served by a beautiful, wide art deco wooden staircase, with a metal gate at the bottom for extra security.
It's a perfect base from which to explore the charm and romance of this fantastic city. Just five minutes walk from the city's central square, the apartment is likewise within ten minutes' walk of most of Krakow's finest restaurants (we can send guests our personal recommendations). We are positioned in a charming 19th century residential street, just beyond the bustle of the centre but still close enough to make everywhere walkable - for instance the city's famous castle and former Royal Palace, Wawel, is just ten minutes away, and just beyond it lies Kazimierz, the famous former Jewish district where Stephen Spielberg filmed parts of 'Schindler's List'. All of the city's other galleries and main monuments are equally close, as well as the bus and rail station. For those wishing to visit the other World Heritage Sites at Auschwitz and the Wieliczka Salt Mines can get there within an hour by taxi.

The second bedroom has a king size antique double bed and a single fold out bed, if one is needed for a child for example.
We also have a double sofa bed in the living room which can become a bedroom by night when you close the double doors separating it from the kitchen.
We have a cot, but please let us know you'd like to reserve it because we only have one, serving both our Krakow apartments.
|Further details outdoors|
There are two or three municipal car parks within a couple of minutes walk of our front door. So if you arrive by car, there's a good chance we can find you a space there. There is also free on-road parking a few minutes away from the city centre.
We do offer a wireless internet connection for those who want it at a small additional charge (dependent on the amount of usage). A simple basic connection, enough for emails and simple internet searches, costs 25 PLN (around £5). But please be aware that this must be requested in advance.
The Carpathian/Polish Mountains region
Krakow stands two hour by train from the Polish capital Warsaw and is within striking distance of the great skiing and walking opportunities offered by the Carpathian mountains in and around Zakopane to the south.
Krakow has become one of Europe's best loved city-break destinations. At its heart stands Europe's largest main town square, with its historic Cathedral and markets stalls. To the south stands the city's imposing Medieval Castle and famous Jewish district, which featured in the filming of Steven Spielberg's film, "Schindlers List". The very walkable city centre has a fantastic array of restaurants and is perfect for just wandering around, with its beautiful and unspoilt eighteenth and nineteenth century architecture, all joined by a network of tram connections.
And of course within reach are two of Europe's most fascinating World Heritage sites, the ancient salt mines and the notorious former concentration camp at Auschwitz.
