Southern Poland region

Four national parks and numerous reserves have been established in the voivodeship to protect the environment of Lesser Poland. The region has areas for tourism and recreation, including Zakopane (Poland's most popular winter resort) and the Tatra, Pieniny and Beskidy Mountains. The natural landscape features many historic sites. The salt mine at Wieliczka, the pilgrimage town of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, and Kraków's Old Town are ranked by UNESCO among the most precious sites of world heritage. At Wadowice, birthplace of John Paul II (50 kilometers southwest of Kraków) is a museum dedicated to the late Pope's childhood. The area of O?wi?cim, with the former Nazi concentration camps Auschwitz-I and Auschwitz-II-Birkenau, is visited annually by a million people. Another tourist destination is the town of Bochnia with its salt mine, Europe's oldest.

Kraków is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. Situated on the Vistula River in the Lesser Poland region, the city dates back to the 7th century. Kraków has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life and is one of Poland's most important economic hubs.

"Fantastic apartment. Clean, tidy, warm and very central."

This is a lovely apartment near the square in Krackov. Its lovely, spacious and very clean. Beds are comfortable and there is plenty of hot water etc. There even was a lovely bottle of wine for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend this apartment to any one. The owner was very easy to deal with and very nice.

"a very relaxing holiday"

We would highly recommend thus apartment. It was clean
, very tastefully furnished and akthough not advertised had 2 toilets. Very convenient when there are 3 or more staying. All appliances that we used were in good working order. The beds where very comfortabke. There was a convenience store just round the corner as well. Very close to the centre. Krakow itself was very c7kean, the food, of which we had only the local cuisine, was extremely good, and very cheap (in UK terms). Very relaxing and stress free holiday.
