About this location
The Dalmatia region
Southern Dalmatia includes the area from Makarska to the border with Montenegro, including the islands of Korcula, Mljet and Lastovo and the Peljesac peninsula, and a numerous of little picturesque islands. The climate is very pleasant, Mediterranean, to grow citrus plantations, palm trees, rich agave, carob trees. Churches and monasteries and diverse flora and fauna attract those looking to relax and enjoy the environment without the traffic and stress.
The center is Dubrovnik, a city-monument under UNESCO protection and one of the most beautiful cities in the world.. The town of Dubrovnik is very famous, and as a destination of numerous tourist it is more expensive than Korcula. Many guest would rather stay on less crowded and relaxing Korcula and take one day trip to Dubrovnik which organize many local travel agencies.
There is regular ferry service from the peninsula Peljesac, from port of Orebic to the island of Korcula, which is supposedly home of the famous seafarer Marco Polo. Our apartment is situated about 300 meters distance from ferry.
You can take a trip to Peljesac Peninsula which is very interesting because of the specific vineyard position an excellent wine and shellfish.
The island of Mljet, also a national park, is the greenest Adriatic island of outstanding natural beauty, rich flora and fauna and numerous historical monuments. In one day trip you can discover one of the most beautiful islands in Adriatic and enjoy the shadow of hundred-year-old trees, take a ride with a boat along the lake and visit a little island on the lake called St. Mary or just swim in the lake.
Come and relax on the Croatian island of Korcula. The mild Mediterranean climate allows year-round home. Today, the island of Korcula represents a unique fusion of beautiful nature, thousands of years of cultural tradition and history, and modern tourism. Numerous beautiful beaches and bays, luxurious hotels and summer houses, centuries old olive groves and vineyards, and ancient towns and villages on the island which seem as if they have remained lost in some long past time attract tourist from all over the world to this island. One of the biggest benefit of the island as well as the quality and clearness of the sea.
Korcula is the island with the most abundant vegetation in the Adriatic and a kind of ecological paradise of the Mediterranean.
Korcula town is one of the best preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean and traditional and cultural center of the island. Nicknamed Mini Dubrovnik, it is made up of a series of narrow streets, branching off the main street in the shape of a fish bone. There you can see the traditional Moreska sword-fighting dance, which happens twice a week. For wonderful views, climb the Marco Polo Tower – the Venetian merchant traveler is claimed by some to have been born here in 1254.
Korcula's bays are great for snorkeling. You can rent kayaks or boats to visit the pretty islets in the archipelago. You can also catch a cheap taxi boat to one of the larger islands. Try Vrnik or Badija, which has a 14th Century Franciscan monastery.
There's a good choice of restaurants and bars, with fish dishes, seafood, grilled meats, salads, pizza and pasta making for easy, laid–back meals out.
There are also pricier full or half day trips, such as a “fish picnic”, a visit to the national park on the island of Mljet, a day out in Dubrovnik or a wines and vineyards tour , a day in island Hvar....

We had an amazing time in Korcula. The evening we arrived it was raining, but Renata was waiting for us at the docks and brought us save to the appartment. The next day it was a sunny day and Renat… More

"Peaceful retreat in Korcula"
Lovely well equipped apartment in quiet area of Korcula --pleasant seaside walk into centre but water taxi available if feeling lazy. Extremely welcoming and helpful hosts who did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable including picking us up from the bus terminal and providing basic provisions. Lots of information on the area was provided and Renata was always available if we needed any help or advice. A new supermarket is 5 minutes walk away and also a small fruit and vegetable stall. Lots to see and do without hiring a car -- there are plenty of local buses and water taxis. We loved the island of Badia --do visit the monastery.

"Great appartment, lovely hosts"
Renata and Ivo are excellent hosts vey hepful and informative. Renata had thought of everything! The appartment was clean and well equipped and benefited from a balcony and small patio area. The location was great for discovering places, we hired bikes for 2 days and found places we otherwise wouldnt have seen. The walk to the old town was around 25mins although we took the water taxi a couple of times for 10kuna. The local konaba Lanterna was a short walk and the food was fabulous.

"Perfect stay in Korcula"
We had 5 lovely days on Korcula Island. Our hosts Renata and Ivo are warm and welcoming people who take very good care of their guests. They will help you with anything you need. The apartment is very nice. Good size and standard. The location is excellent. It is a little out of town but the walk is very nice and scenic and takes about 20 mins. We actually preferred this location because it is near the water (small bay), and it is nice and quiet, but still close enough to walk into town for dinner. There is also a place nearby where you can rent a scooter and drive around the island which is highly recomended. I would definitely recomend staying with Renata and Ivo as they are very helpful and the apartment and location is perfect.

"Perfect stay in Korcula"
This apartment is an ideal base for a visit to Korcula. It is immaculate and well equipped. It is in a quiet location but nonetheless very convenient for trips into Korcula town either on foot or by a 10 minute ride by water taxi for only 10 kuna. Our hosts Renata and Evo were real stars, providing excellent help and advise on anything Korculan or Croatian: castles, museums, buses, car hire, transfers, ferries, walks, restaurants, beaches..... There are many restaurants and beaches within easy reach. Not all beaches are sandy but Lumbarda, which has excellent sandy beaches, is only a very short bus ride away. Overall this apartment provides excellent value for money. If I have to find fault, the only down side is the view from the terrace which is not great, although the terrace itself provides a cool and relaxing space for a spot of book reading and a glass of wine in the evening when recovering from the heat of the day.

"Beautiful apartment, excellent location, welcoming owners"
We stayed for five nights at the beginning of August having been travelling for a couple of hours. Renata collected us from the bus station and was incredibly welcoming. The apartment was beautiful - spotlessly clean, very well equipped with a fan AND air conditioning! Just what we needed in a 40 degree heat wave! The location was ideal - far enough away from Korcula town to be quiet but close enough to walk in along the water front within about 15 minutes. When you visit you must visit Badija island - it is so beautiful, lovely and quiet (even at peak times) and the water is crystal clear. Overall, a fantastic stay and we would recommend Renata's apartment to anybody! Thank you!

"Great vacation experience!"
The apartment was the best we stayed in during our trip to Croatia. It was spotlessly clean and perfectly located for getting into the Old Town by taxi boat or 15mins by nice walk. On the map it may appear out of town, however it is in a little pocket / mini harbour of its own just outside town and there are alot of places to swim off the rocks and a little beach about 3mins walk. The best part is that there are taxi boats (only 10kuna) every 20-30 mins into the main town or to the nearby islands which I highly recommend. We hired a bike so had no issues with getting around to anywhere on the island. We can't wait to come back to Korcula and when we do we will be sure to stay here! Renata and her husband were exceptional hosts, very friendly and even woke up at 5am to take us to the port. Thanks again for everything!

"Undiscovered paradise on Earth"
We stayed at a perfectly cozy and tidy apartment at an ideal location, and were hosted by a most helpful and welcoming couple Renata and Ivo who helped us get around this fantastic island. In a few minutes walk we reached a taxi boat wharf and sailed with the boat to hidden bays on charming surrounding islets, where we were alone, undisturbed and off the usual tourist tracks. We regretted that our stay was too short, and will definitely come back.
