Frangipani Villa on Koh Tao is uniquely designed for the hillside, which means it is built in two levels with level differences with an large boulder inside.
The Villa has easy access to divecenters, boat pier, beach, restaurants, massage, ATM's, nightlife, shopping, pharmacy, banks and post office in Mae Haad. The main village is only 10 minutes walk from the house.
Koh Tao's longest and beautiful beach Sairee Beach is approx 25 minutes walk from the house.
Frangipani Villa is an 170 m² beautiful villa which is 70 m² sun terraces, one on the first floor and one on the top floor. Half of the terrace on the top floor is under roof with a nice and comfy lounge sofa.
The ground floor has a large open plan, with living-room and kitchen.
Two specious bedrooms. One on first floor and one on the top floor. Both with air-condition and ceiling fans.
One bathroom with shower and toilet.
TV-room on the 2nd floor with a two-sleeps sleeping-sofa, HDTV and DVD.
Free access to WiFi.
The house has all the expected amenities.
Kitchen and bathroom in European-standard.
The villa is smoke-free inside, but you may of course smoke on the terraces.
We have also installed a circuit breaker (Safety-cut). This is not standard in Thailand but we think this is an very important thing to have in a house.
The Villa has level-differences and is not suitable for disabled.
The last 100 meters of the road up to the house is severely uphill which requires a stronger moped, motorcycle or ATV. But of course you can also walk up or take a 4WD taxi.

The Surat Thani Province region
This paradise island is located on the East coast, almost in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand. It’s an small island, little more than 21 km2 and can only be reached by boat from Chumphon or Surat Thani on the mainland.
They are many beautiful beaches and bays around Koh Tao, both large and small. To the most of the beaches you can go by motorbike or on foot but some of them can only be reached by long-tail boat.
Koh Tao means “Turtle Island”. Despite the name, it’s not many turtles left, unfortunately. But they can appear sometime every now or then. But Koh Tao is blessed with clear water and beautiful reefs, and there is about 25 dive-sites around the island.
As Koh Tao is an tiny island there are no airport here, you can only go to Koh Tao by boat. A little messy perhaps some people think. But this is not a bad thing, the good things that come with this is that the island has no mass tourism and charter tourism as many other places in Thailand. Sure, the tourism has left its mark, for the better and the worse, but both Thais and foreigners are more aware and want to preserve this wonderful island.
Be aware & care!
Although Koh Tao is a quite small island, there’s plenty to do. There is always something for everyone. Here is a selection:
* Scuba Diving and Snorkeling
Scuba diving and the snorkeling is among the better in Thailand and the cheapest. Thousands come to Koh Tao every year to learn how to dive, so it’s no wonder that there are about 50 diveshops around the island. They offer courses from Open water to Instructor and they have merged so that all have the same fee. If you don’t want to dive, dive centers offer snorkeling tours around the island for a few hundred baht.
* Massage & Spa
Thai massage can be find almost everywhere. All with varying prices, but the most common is the 1-hour Thai massage costs about 300 baht, Oil massage about 400 bath and Aloe Vera massage about 500 baht. Our favorite place is just 5 min walk down the hill from our house in Mae Haad, Kinaree Massage. One of the best Spas on Koh Tao is Jamahkiri Resort & Spa. Well worth a visit!
Try an incredible funny, tough and good form of exercise on you vacation. There are 2 training centers for Thai-boxing on the island.
* Gym and Fitness
If you don't want to relax on the beaches or go diving all the time then stop by at Koh Tao's great gym in Sairee Village.
* Bowling & Mini golf
Are you tired of sunbathing you can enjoy a round of bowling or mini golf. Both fun and social. And it is just a 5 minute walk from the house.
* Cooking classes
Learn the secret of cooking good Thai-food, our hostess On and many restaurants offers courses and you can also eat the food that you cooked.
Shambhala Yoga Centre at Sairee Beach offers a variety of Hatha yoga styles, Pranayam and meditation led by international qualified experienced teacher.
* Climbing, Trekking, Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Zip-line
On Koh Tao are several operators of other more challenging outdoor activities. GoodTime Adventues has a wide selections to keep your days occupied if you want to do other than dive, swim or sunbathe.
* Free Diving
Do you not want to scuba dive, there’s another options to explore the world beneath the surface. Apnea Total, the only free diving school in Southeast Asia, learns you to hold your breath and go deeper than you ever imagined.

"You haven't seen steep, until you've experienced Frangipani!"
After a two week stay at the end of Sairee Beach, we were ready to kick back and relax. The weather was almost perfect and we spent a majority of our time on the enormous balcony with an incredible … More

"Incredible view from a lovely house"
I stayed with 3 friends for a few nights in August 2014 at Frangipani villa. Koh Tao is terrific, even if you aren't a diver. Their house manager met us at the pier and she was simply lovely during our stay and helped us tremendously. (she even had me over for a glass of wine one night; she's so sweet!)
Best things about the house: Incredible view, AC and fans everywhere, really neat design, spacious areas to hang out, clean.
Challenges about the house: The hike up to this house is no joke. The four of us are adults who are in excellent shape, and we struggled. If you rent this house, plan on leaving for the whole day and then coming back at night, because you aren't going to want to make the climb multiple times in a day. I would not recommend this house for people with very young children or people who aren't in shape. We also had a bit of trouble with the water, but the house manager was on top of that and had it fixed quickly both times when we had issues.

Sorry for late respond..
Thanks for that great review! We really appreciate it.
And thanks for the feedback. We will always improve ourself till the better.
We been there in July and we have fixed the fridge by buying a new one. And fixing other things such as a new hostess who will help us with the customer-service, so hopefully everything will work out much better the next time you come to Koh Tao.
Unfortunately we can't do anything about the hill.. But as you said its all worth it with our amazing view and relaxed area!
Thanks again and have a great summer!

"Unique house with amazing views and very peaceful."
Had a great stay at Frangipani Villa. The only draw back is the hill to get up and down from the villa. But the views and solidarity are well worth the walk. The hospitality crew where nice and responsive. Also picked us up and dropped us off from the pier and took us to get some groceries when we arrived.
Thank you so much!
We really appreciate that you taking your time to review your stay.
Welcome back to Frangipani Villa and to Koh Tao!
Take care and thanks again!
Best regards, Tomas & Linda

"Best view on the Island?"
We stayed at this house for one week. They view from this house is amazing.
The owners are great to deal with and I recommend this to everybody that do not have any problem with walking in stairs. That's the only downpoint of having this amazing view.
If you are going to Koh Tao and want to rent a house, this is the one you want to rent.
