Mango House 2 Bedroom Villa
House | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Welcome to Mango Houses – a collection of authentic, Chinese-style wooden pole houses that have been converted into stylish, over-the-sea rental villas and suites. Each of these vacation home rentals is located directly on the ocean in an old Chinese fishing village named Lanta Old Town on Ko Lanta Island in Krabi, Thailand.
The Mango House 2 Bedroom Villa is the combination of two of our unique over-the-sea suites: Seafront Suite One and Seafront Suite Two with locking, connecting door and joint balcony. This villa is ideal for groups of up to 6 people with two private bedrooms (one air con and one fan), one large private seafront deck, 1 full western kitchen, 1 kitchenette and 2 modern bathrooms.
Lanta Old Town is located on the nature-rich, southeast coast of Koh Lanta, only 15 minutes away from the beaches and tourist areas on the west coast — yet far enough to allow the village to retain its traditional culture and charm.
Mango House Villas are renovated to feature the original charm of the teak wood structures that once served as Chinese merchant shop houses over 50 years ago. Classic dark hardwood and rich Chinese silks fuse with modern art and nature creating a retreat that soothes body, mind and soul. All units include spacious semi-private or private seafront decks with hammocks and comfortable outdoor seating to enjoy Thailand's most incredible views over seven tropical islands.

The South Thailand region
To say that the Andaman region is a outdoor paradise is something of an understatement. The region is consistently rated as one of the world's great sailing playgrounds with superb natural wonders to explore, plus first class maritime infrastructure. There are hundreds of islands dotted around the sheltered and calm of Phuket's Phang Nga Bay and in the Similan and Surin Marine National Parks. Also there are almost three thousand largely unexplored islands in the Mergui Archipelago and the pristine Andaman Islands off the Indian coast.
There can be few more ecstatic experiences in life than encountering a whale shark while scuba diving in South Thailand's turquoise seas. Alternatively, ascending after a night dive among multi-coloured coral into a full moon tropical night, with soft lightning flashes inside the gathering clouds, is an experience you will never forget. Such experiences as these and many more are at your doorstep in the Andaman region, which is globally recognised as one of the world's top ten scuba and snorkelling areas.
The Andaman region offers the perfect environment for a healthy lifestyle, with abundant opportunities for outdoor pursuits. Recent years have seen a significant growth of spas, and a proliferation of every type of health and wellness facility imaginable. All the major resorts and hotels offer spa facilities, gymnasia and health clubs and the cultural influences of expert Thai therapists, masseuses and instructors brings an added, intensely personal dimension to these offerings.
Koh Lanta Island
There are nine beautiful beaches running on the west coast side of Ko Lanta, running from north to south for 25 kilometers. The north end of the island, where you find Klong Dao and Phra Ae Beach is the more developed, with the most resorts and services available (although even in the busiest time of the year these beaches are never crowded).
The farther you get south, heading towards the National Park at the end, the beaches become more secluded and are most often empty. There are pockets of basic services – ATM, travel and tour offices -- available in each beach area, but it is generally less developed the farther down the island you get.
Ban Saladan, the tourist service center of Ko Lanta, is where you'll most likely arrive on the island, and where you'll find a choice banks, medical center, dive shops and shopping.
Lanta Old Town, across the island on the southeast corner of the island, is where the police station, post office and limited services are available. It's a lovely, historical port for Koh Lanta.
For the most part all the beaches on Koh Lanta have white sand and are great for swimming. There is limited snorkeling from the shore at the south end of Phra Ae Beach and at Ao Mai Pai Bay but your best to book a day trip to snorkel at nearby islands.
Ban Saladan, the tourist center of Ko Lanta, is approximately 3 kms from Klong Dao Beach. Facilities include inexpensive and easy to find transport, diving trips, banking and shopping.
There is wide range of great dive sites accessible from Ko Lanta, but many divers come especially for Hin Daeng and Hin Muang – famous sites known around the world. Many local divers consider Ko Ha (five islands) as good a site if not better, and there are other world-class dives with special attractions to choose from.
