The South Thailand region
The Krabi region of Thailand has long been known for it's and laid-back atmosphere, friendly people and amazing scenery. The Andaman Sea is an attraction for divers and water-sports enthusiasts alike. The area's beaches are stunning and ideal for families and all seeking relaxation and peace.
Koh Lanta Island
The island of Ko Lanta lies off of Thailand’s south western coast about 70km from the town of Krabi.
Ko Lanta consists of several islands, the two largest of which are Ko Lanta Noi , ("Small Lanta Island") and Ko Lanta Yai ("Big Lanta Island"). However, Ko Lanta Yai is where all the tourist head too, with its impressive beaches and laid back atmosphere.
Most of Lanta Yai’s residents are practicing Thai Muslims, deriving their income from rubber, palm and coconut farming, fishing and tourism. The rest of the population is made up of Buddhists, Thai-Chinese, and sea gypsies (Choe Lay).
The island itself runs from north to south, 30km long with the west coast established as the main tourist area, . There are nine beaches stretching the length of the island and the further south you travel the less developed and wilder the natural surroundings get.
From west to east Koh Lanta is 6km at its widest point. The east coast is far less developed, has no sandy beaches and the coastline largely consists of mangroves. It’s here you will find Lanta Old Town and at the southern tip the ancient Sea Gypsy Village, home to the indigenous settlers on Ko Lanta. Off the east coast you can view many islands stretching down towards Trang province.
Ko Lanta is popular with tourists seeking a holiday away from the parties. It's more popular with families, couples and people wanting to walk on the beach and watch the sunset. However, there are plenty of bars and there is always something going on if you want more of a party atmosphere. Ko Lanta can provide a party if you know where to look.
Weather in the region is tropical - there are only two seasons: the hot season from January to April, and the rainy season from May to December. Temperatures during the year average 25ºC to 32ºC (77ºF to 89.6ºF) and the yearly rainfall averages 2568.5mm. .
Weather-wise, the best time to visit Ko Lanta is between the months November to April when the area’s climate is less hot than usual. During this period the island gets a lot of dry North Easterly winds, so giving dry blue skies and starry nights. Then, down on the beaches one can enjoy nice sea breezes. From May to October the area gets a lot of rainfall. During this period the island gets a lot of moist South Westerly winds, so giving a mixture of dry days and wet ones. The sea stays at a warm 29°C all year round.

"It was the best stay!"
It was our best trip to Thai ever! Nick and his family was very helpful and hospitable! He helped to arrange a transfer to our villa.
Our villa was very clean and cool! You can find whatever you need for your convenient stay with your family and friends!
We stayed with a 3 years old baby and we had so much fun - a swimming pool was always clean and we had toys to play with.
Bathroom was clean and the best thing was that there was NO MOLD!
Beach was great - we walked 3 mins to reach the beach and more 10 mins along the beach to get to the neacest part of it!
If you still hesitate what place to stay?! - Choose this place you will never regret!
Thank you NICK !!!!
