Located directly on Pearl Beach (Hat Kai Mook) - Koh chang is famous for its palm lined coral white sandy beaches - the villa, constructed as a two storey dwelling with annexes and grounds are a study in luxury. Entrance to the property is via a secluded road directly off the main Koh Chang road. Ample parking is available at the front of the property, with detached car port located to the side.

The East Thailand / Trat region
People wishing to visit Koh Chang will have to firstly get to the Trat Province. The most convenient method to arrive in Trat is by airplane, with daily flights from Suvarnabhumi Bangkok Airport to Trat Airport. Flights to Trat can also be obtained from Utapao Airport (Pattaya), Phuket, Chiang Mai and Krabi. The extensive Thai bus network is the cheapest form of transport to visit Trat, and also very reliable.
There are a number of ways to reach Koh Chang via Trat. The town of Laem Ngob, which is home to the three piers you can use to reach the island. All the ferries start at 7am in the morning and run every two hours until 6pm in the evening. The ferry price from Laem Ngob to Koh Chang is roughly 30bht.
The Koh Chang area
Things to do on Koh Chang usually revolve around nature, such as diving, snorkeling, kayaking, elephant trekking, hiking and fishing. There are other ways to pass the time that include visiting the Buddhist shrine of Chao Po Koh Chang, which is revered by locals and fishermen who believe the shrine will protect them during stormy fishing trip. The beaches at Koh Chang still have that natural charm and untapped feel that makes this such a great island to visit.
The island and surrounding areas is a snorkeling and diving paradise, and the best time of the year to enjoy the diving is between November and April. The great visibility and shallow depths of the coral reefs located around the ten different islands to the south of Koh Chang between Koh Kood provide excellent dive conditions. The tropical marine life there is beautiful, and you will get the opportunity to see the myriad reef fish, eels and further south near to Hin Phrai Nam, you will find some white-tip reef sharks. There are great opportunities to dive around two separate shipwrecks located in the area, one of which was a Thai ship sunk by the French Nay during the Second World War.
Relaxing on the secluded beaches of White Sand, Klong Prao, Kai Bae, and Lonely Beach are great, but to break up your sun tanning periods you can enjoy elephant trekking or hiking through the rainforests, massages, spa treatments or even learn Thai cooking secrets with specially provided classes and courses.
Restaurants
Because Koh Chang has remained relatively untouched by the modern world and excessive tourism, only a handful of restaurants are available on the island. This is why you are visiting Koh Chang, to enjoy a remote tropical paradise that isn’t dominated by franchise eateries and mass tourism. There are some charming beachside restaurants that serve the freshest and tastiest seafood imaginable. The prices are also incredibly low when compared to Thailand’s other main tourist regions, so take advantage of the chance to eat King Prawns for the cheapest prices available.
Shopping
Shopping options on the island are quite good when considering its location in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand. Although the island is relatively untouched by modern life, you cannot escape the clutches of a Seven Eleven anywhere in the country, and Koh Chang is no different!
Shopping on Koh Chang is slightly more developed that you might expect, with a good selection of handicrafts and small boutiques. The mainstay of Thai tourism shopping items exist on the island too, such as copy CDs and DVDs, T-shirts, sunglasses, fabrics, paintings and souvenirs. The most popular shopping areas are situated next to the most popular beaches of White Sand, Klong Prao, Kai Bae, and Lonely Beach.
Koh Chang is a natural paradise and is the blueprint for remote wilderness holiday getaways, where the atmosphere is relaxed and the locals even more so. Visitors to the island should remember to take care of the island and treat it like it with respect, because the allure of the destination depends on the well-maintained natural habitat it is famous for.
