Siyambala House
About the home
With its high-vaulted ceilings, traditional freezes over the windows and doors and inlaid floors, Siyambala House can best be described as a modern take on the Sri Lankan vernacular. It is light, airy and, at more than 4,000 sq ft, very spacious. The covered terrace benefits from a wonderfully calming breeze from the water, providing the perfect place to eat, take in the views, socialise, or doze. There are five large air-conditioned bedrooms: four doubles and one twin; two on the second floor and three downstairs. Three bedrooms have en suite bathrooms.
Add to this the spectacular 15-metre infinity pool, the comfort of the huge atrium as well as five full-time staff, and you have all the ingredients in place for a tropical holiday to remember. For those who want a tranquil getaway with the choice to be active or not and who do not want to do any catering or other chores! Perfect for intergenerational groups or reunions.

Enquire nowThe Sri Lanka Southern Coast region
Southern Sri Lanka boasts some of the most idyllic stretches of coastline in Sri Lanka, offering the ideal holiday destination for families, adventure travellers, or culture-vultures, alike. The region not only has exceptional diving, surfing, windsurfing, and parasailing, but also whale and dolphin watching, turtle farms, birdwatching and a rich supply of spas, yoga centres and ayurvedic treatments.
It is also rich in culture. The southern coastal city of Galle boasts a huge fort whose entire area is an UNESCO World heritage site. Built by the Portuguese, enlarged by the Dutch, and finally taken over by British invaders the fort is a preserved honeycomb of living history. Some of the professionals and merchants that reside here have family histories spanning 300 years. Galle was trading centre for the lucrative spice trade of the East Indies and the huge warehouses for storing cinnamon are just as they were. So are the spectacular fort ramparts where families and lovers take their evening walk to enjoy the sea breezes. Cricket lovers can enjoy test matches and an array of first-class matches at Galle International Stadium, just outside the ramparts. Every house and civic building has a story to tell in Galle and we offer our guests a free historic tour of the town to introduce them.
The Koggala area
Tranquillity is guaranteed at the 43-acre Koggala Lake, which is a protected site, for its bird life in particular. You will see fishermen rowing out to catch fresh prawns and other delights, including kestrels, kites and fruit bats which festoon the sky at sunset. From the house you can take a boat or swim out to some of its small islands such as Cinnamon Island, where a family still harvests the bark of this plant and is happy to demonstrate and brew up a refreshing cup of cinnamon tea, the Buddhist temple on another of the islands, or Ananda Spice Garden.
If you can tear yourself away from the house, the local area offers a wealth of excursions. Just speak to our manager Nalaka, who will arrange everything.

We spent a wonderful week in Sri Lanka with Siyambala House as our home from home. Nalaka and his staff looked after us extremely well. Day trip to Yala National Park is worth the 3 hour journey each way particularly if you are lucky enough to spot a leopard as we did. Galle is nearby and also worth a visit - Nalaka can arrange a stroll on the hallowed turf of the test match pitch for cricket fans. We routed back to the airport via Kandy which made for a long day but it was good to experience inland Sri Lanka and The Temple of the Tooth Relic is a must see. Otherwise relax and enjoy the stunning view from the patio and pool. |

Thank you for an amazing stay, our group loverd every minute of it. Superb stunning villa in a great location with amazing views of the lake. Nalaka was a superb host and couldn't do enough for us, as were all the team who were all superb and made our stay. Food was great when we ate in. Nothing was too much trouble for Nalaka and the guys. We used the van each day going to the cricket, and Nalaka was more than happy to take us where we wanted to go. He managed to organise some trips and a night in Kandy for our spare night we had, which was great, The villa is paradise and spotless, we had a group of 10, and there was plenty of room for us all. Great pool that we couldn't spend enough time in, the pictures don't lie, this is what you call paradise Booking process with Alison & Chris was very simple, great communication with them from first enquiry, up to and after our stay. I know where to stay when going back to Sri Lanka as a group again Thanks again for an amazing 8 nights here |
