The Powys/Brecon Beacons region
The old county of Radnorshire makes up part of modern day Powys, local towns are Knighton and Presteigne, each a few minutes away by car. The village is a perfect base to explore the local area.
The Greyhound Pub is a couple of minutes walk from the cottage, offering a friendly welcome to our guests and some excellent local real ales. Offa's Dyke footpath runs thorugh nearby Knighton and Glyndwr's Way runs literally past the cottage. There are also many local walks up into the hills.
The Offa's Dyke Centre in Knighton provides excellent infomation for walkers and is an excellent starting point.
Other attractions include the SpaceGuard Centre and the famous Red Kite Feeding centre as well as the Elan Valley dams some 40 minutes away neat Rhyader.
The towns of Presteigne and Ludlow are nearby offering excellent locally produced food and drink.
