Delightful and well equipped converted barn set in glorious countryside on the English/Welsh border. Short breaks available all year round. Minimum 2 night stay. Please send enquiry for pricing.
Our 2 bedroom cottage, attached to our farmhouse, is ideally situated for those who want to enjoy a relaxing, peaceful holiday with country walks from the door including the Offa's Dyke, or there is an abundance of activities, including cycling, horse riding and fishing in the area. Set in glorious countryside on the English/Welsh border close to the Elan valley with views across rolling hills and woodland. 2 miles to shops/pubs. Full of character with oak beams and wood burning stove (1st basket of logs included). Open plan living with comfy sofa and armchairs, well equipped kitchen and dining area. Double bedroom with four poster bed and twin/double bedroom (The second bedroom can be made up as a twin or kingsize bed). Large upstairs shower room and additional downstairs toilet. Private garden with table and chairs and BBQ. Off street parking. Night storage heaters, elec, bed linen and towels inc. No smoking. Wifi access (Please be aware that due to our location and thick stone walls the wifi signal is low to moderate with slow speed). NB: There is an unfenced pond close to the property in the owners garden.Whatever the season, there is plenty to do.
There is plenty to see and do in the area. Close by are Offa's Dyke Path, and the start of Glyndwr's Way, the Long Mynd, the Teme Valley, Mortimer Forest, Radnor Forest and the spectacular Elan Valley. There are historic sites and Border Castles namely Stokesay, Clun, Wigmore, Powis and Ludlow – and there are several English Heritage and National Trust properties within a short drive. The village of Leintwardine, once a Roman settlement, is only ten miles away as well as the nearby towns of Church Stretton, Bishop's Castle, Leominster, Knighton and, above all, Ludlow. Also within easy driving distance is Hay on Wye, Shrewbury and Hereford.
Ideally located to explore the Black and White Trail, Weobley, Eardisland and Pembridge to name a few of the villages.
For those more active there is Underhill Riding Stables, Griffin Lloyd Shooting Ground and Phil Price Rally School all within 10 miles. There are also 2 gliding centres nearby in Talgarth and Church Stretton. There are several golf courses in Knighton, Ludlow and Kington
