About the home

Wouldn't you like to relax in a spacious Florida-style home situated in a quiet rural backdrop only 5 miles east of the Walt Disney World Resort and in easy reach of Sea World and Universal Studios?

"Lakeside Dream" is a 3-bedroom / 2 bathroom fully air-conditioned villa with a private south-facing water-front pool that accommodates 6 comfortably, although if you don't mind it being a little cosy there is room for up to 8! "Lakeside Dream" is the ideal short-term holiday home for an average size family, a small group of friends or perhaps for a retired couple who would like to enjoy the wonderful Florida sunshine for a longer period of time. The villa has all the features of a typical Florida pool home. There is plenty of living space for everyone and a really lovely pool and large deck area that you can enjoy for hours on end.

Surrounded by pine trees and a haven for nature, Winward Cay is a very well-kept Kissimmee secret. In fact, without a map or GPS you could have great difficulty finding this retreat-like neighbourhood even though it is only a few hundred yards south of the busy 192.

Facilities

Further details indoors:
The Master Bedroom is located at the rear of the villa and looks out across the lake through a double French window that provides direct access to the pool area. Although close enough to the rest of the house to be aware of the others in your party, it is annexed sufficiently for you to be able to retreat in total privacy. There is an en-suite shower room and toilet for your private use and there is also a single-door access to the pool deck from the shower room area. It is ideal for a late night swim when other family members are fast asleep elsewhere in the villa! This bedroom comes equipped with cable TV and a DVD player. There is also a large walk-in storage room located off the master bedroom that includes a safe to protect all your valuables.

At the front of the house you will find the two other spacious bedrooms, which are each equipped with 2 twin beds, which can easily be pushed together to make doubles if you so wish. These bedrooms both have cable TVs and are close enough for you to supervise young children, yet separate enough to give you personal privacy.

Between both bedrooms you'll find a second bathroom and toilet. An industrial size washing machine and tumble dryer are located in an alcove opposite the bathroom. Both bathrooms have a hairdryer provided (remember the USA uses the 140v electrical power system so none of your electrical appliances, except perhaps laptop/phone chargers, will work) and there is a large stock of towels of various different sizes available for your convenience.

As you walk through the front door you enter into the living room, which is a large, very warm and welcoming room in which to relax or curl up with a book, or to just enjoy a quiet conversation after a busy day at the theme parks. Here you will find 2 sofas, a cable television that has all major American television channels, and a DVD player. You can rent a variety of movies at either the Blockbuster or UP2U Video centres, both of which are very close by and which accept all major credit cards.

The property also contains a laundry room, with a large washing machine, and a separate drying machine. Ironing facilities are also available.The villa is air-conditioned with central heating for the cooler months of the year. All bed linen is provided.

Hi speed wireless internet is avilable and there are telephones in the kitchen/dining area and in the master bedroom.

A Brinks Alarm system is fitted to the villa to provide enhanced security.

Further details outdoors:
The pool has a very large screened deck area which includes a dining lanai/porch area with shade umbrella, table and chairs, as eating out in the open air by the poolside is a well established Florida tradition. There is an electric pool heater (optional extra) that assures 27C/82F water temperatures during those few cooler winter days, and both the pool and the deck area can be lit at night.

The view from the pool is particularly stunning as the rear of the villa faces south and is only 10 metres from the edge of a beautiful tranquil lake. Pine trees beyond combine to make this a particularly pleasing outlook. The lake is full of fish and turtles and it attracts all kinds of other wildlife, including numerous species of birds; especially, during the migrating season.

Our delightful villa has a prime, south-facing lakeside position on the charming and tranquil Windward Cay estate, an attractive and exclusive location well hidden from the busy surrounds of Kissimmee. Nevertheless, you are within easy walking distance of several restaurants and shops, and there is a large Wal-Mart superstore very close by, which should provide you with absolutely everything you need.

There is a large 2-car garage which provides secure parking facilities.

The Florida / Orlando Disney Area region

There is so much to do and see locally - a week or 2 may simply not be enough!

**Shopping in Orlando** can provide you with some great bargains. Don't miss the Belz factory outlets on International Drive - all top names including Nike, Ralph Lauren. Opening hours are 10.00 am until 9.00 pm Monday - Saturday and Sunday 10.00 am until 6.00 pm.

The Orlando Shopping Mall - situated at Lake Buena Vista is accessible via the I4 and has all the top names including Nike, Ralph Lauren etc.

The Mall at Millenia to the north of Universal is highly recommended and is open from 10.00 am until 9.30 pm Monday - Saturday and Sunday 11.00 am until 7.00 pm. It includes Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Cartier, Gap, Victoria's Secret etc.

There are about 150 outlets and many restaurants.

** Golfing holidays ** Central Florida is has probably the best selection of golf courses to be found anywhere in the world. We can supply more details on the different course upon request.


** Coasts and beaches ** To the south west of Orlando there are a number of beautiful white sand beaches around the Clearwater, and St. Petersburg area on the Gulf Coast and further south near Sarasota and Rotunda. It takes just over an hour to reach the coast.

To the east are the Atlantic beaches including Cocoa Beach near to the Kennedy Space Centre and Cape Canaveral. Daytona Beach is further north along the East coast. Daytona is famous for NASCAR racing.

The Kissimmee / Winward Cay area

Windward Cay, often referred to as a 'hidden jewel in Kissimmee's crown', is a popular and well established community in a tranquil, pleasant and peaceful wooded setting with pine trees amidst lakes and woodland in the heart of the area.

Windward Cay, conveniently located in Central Kissimmee, is only a short walk to the huge Walmart Superstore and very near to the action packed Highway 192 with its vast range of shopping, restaurants, pubs, leisure amenities and entertainment, with Disney Maingate around a 5 mile drive.

Here are a few of the great local attractions:

DISNEYWORLD:

The Magic Kingdom is about 15 minutes drive from the villa. Attractions include; Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Stitch's Great Escape, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and many, many more!

BUSCH GARDENS:

Busch Gardens is actually situated near Tampa. It takes about an hour to reach the attraction from the villa. If you want rollercoasters and white knuckle rides then this is the place for you.

DISCOVERY COVE:

This is a fantastic day out. Admission can be linked to Sea Word or Busch Gardens. The prices below are for a two park admission. For an additional cost you can swim with the dolphins

SEA WORLD:

Sea World gives a great day out - but be prepared to get wet if you sit in the Splash Zones! Kraken is awesome and the Clyde and Seamore show also very funny - don't miss the warm up. The Shamu Rocks America twilight show is great. Sit in the centre in the splash zone and you won't get too wet!

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS:

Universal Studios provides a great day out for all the family. Including: Men in Black, Jaws, Back to the Future, ET, Earthquake, Shrek, Terminator 2

...Afterwards don't forget the City Walk with its bars, restaurants and shops. The Hard Rock Cafe is the largest in the world and is packed with rock memorabilia.

The villa is located just off the 192..

From Orlando Airport:

Take the South Exit (Kissimmee) till you reach Highway 417 Toll Road proceed South towards Disney World until the junction with SR535. Turn left onto 535 and continue to the junction with the 192 and proceed East until you reach Four Winds Boulevard near marker 13 (if you go past Walmart then you have gone too far). Turn right onto Four Winds Boulevard. Windward Cay is the second community on the right and the villa is the second on the left.
