About the home

Very private 5 bed villa with 3 en suite bedrooms absolutely ideal for families looking for an unforgettable holiday.
Relax by the 32ft pool or enjoy a wonderful spa with a cool drink - walk or cycle through the gated community stopping to watch the wildlife all around you.

A 52 inch TV enabling you to watch hundreds of channels including English football- TVs in all bedrooms. A wonderful King Master (upstairs) with balcony overlooking conservation. A brand new corner lounge suite for 2012 to watch the TV in great comfort complements our lovely home.

Our villa is a 5 bedroom 4.5 Bathroom (3 en-suites) home with two lounges, two dining areas and a games room. It is carpeted or tiled throughout with ceiling fans and TVs in all rooms.

Our home has a very spacious open-plan casual lounge Area. The highlight is a 52 inch High Definition Widescreen TV with a Brighthouse Cable system which has hundreds of channels, including English Football (when played) and an assortment of High Definition Channels, and a Nintendo Wii.

A full kitchen with almost every conceivable cooking tool should you wish to cook!

The layout of bedrooms is:

1. Super King master with dressing area separate bath and walk in shower and patio door out to balcony/sundeck with 42 inch HD TV. -
2. King with en suite 30 inch TV walkin cupboard
3. Queen with en suite with patio door out to pool area 30 inch TV walkin cupboard
4 two single beds with Ninendo Wii and new 26inch flat screen TV11

5 two single beds wuith Nintendo Gamecube. These bedrooms share a bathroom. There are fans and televisions in all bedrooms

Games Room which includes a full size SLATE 8ft Pool Table and a new table tennis table We also have a Personal Computer and printer with wireless connectivity for your use throughout the house so you can surf(!) by the pool. on the internet!
One of the many extra benefits of renting our executive home is the wide variety of kitchen utensils, implements and equipment which allows you to prepare meals in our well fitted kitchen to cut down on the ever increasing costs of eating out.

To assist with this we have:


A very well equipped kitchen with almost every utensil, pot, pan and baking dish you may need
A side-by-side Fridge/Freezer with Water and Ice vending units, Cooker with Hood, Dishwasher, Microwave, Liquidizer, Coffeemaker, Electric Kettle
A second and more informal open plan dining area with eight chairs and a high chair.

A Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer are also provided at the rear of the games room.

The breakfast bar area with bar stools at the back of the lounge provides another flexible seating and eating area.

For days relaxing away from the parks there is a large selection of books, DVDs, Videos and Games for your home from home.

The main access to the Pool and Lanai is from the Patio door as show in the picture on the right. all doors leading to the pool are secured and alarmed for safety.

We also have a Personal Computer and printer with wireless connectivity for your use throughout the house so you can surf(!) by the pool on the internet!
On the Practical side a cot, highchair, stairgate and pushchairs (strollers) are all available for your use.

On the fun side and for the older child between 8-90 there is a pool table, foosball, air hockey, many pool toys, nintendo wII and gamecube and an assortment of board games. More than enough to keep children of all ages occupied during any downtime!

For those that want to keep in touch with friends and family (who are not lucky enough to be with you!) we have a PC Workstation with 19 inch flat screen and colour Printer provided for your use.

A secure wireless network also operates throughout the house and pool area and a separate ethernet cable for use with your own laptop is provided.

. Cumbrian Lakes is 4 miles from the US192, 8 miles from the Disney complex and less than 5 miles from two SuperCentre Wal-Marts. Close enough to all the buzz but a very private community to relax away from the action.

A very private wonderful 32 foot swimming pool is the centre piece of an extended lanai which also benefits from a soothing Jacuzzi with one-touch timer control. Just turn on, get in, enjoy and reeeelax!

Pool Chairs and recliners are provided for your relaxation together with two separate outside eating areas for your enjoyment and a fridge for that cold drink without having to go inside. .

The Lanai area is well lit to enable you to sit outside in the warm Florida evenings to enjoy that long cocktail.

A propane gas barbeque in its own discrete area and large enough for all your eating requirements is also provided.

An assortment of Pool Toys for the enjoyment of our young and not so young guests.

An outside shower unit is also provided.

There is a small extra cost for pool and spa heating..

The Florida / Orlando Disney Area region

Local attractions include all the Disney and Universal parks. and of course Aquatica and the very new Harry Potter them park. The weather is fantastic all year and many thousands of people come back to Orlando year after year after.......

So much to do so much to see. for children of all ages....

The Kissimmee / Cumbrian Lakes area

In the short time since Cumbrian Lakes was built it has gained a very good reputation for the quality of homes and the wonderful holiday so many people have had here.

Cumbrian Lakes is a gated community four miles from US 192 near Mile Marker 11. It is located on Poinciana Blvd. and is only ten minutes from the main Disney attractions and so it both close enough for maximum enjoyment of the parks and entertainment yet far enough away to give you a restful holiday in private surroundings.

Cumbrian Lakes has four lakes together with walking paths, two football goals are provided for the energetic next to a play area for children. It is approximately one mile around from the gate, itself a nice early morning stroll.

It is quite common to see a variety of wildlife including herons and raccoons. around which only adds to the serene and restful atmosphere of Cumbrian Lakes.

Flight to Sanford (75 minutes) Orlando International (20 minutes) Precise instructions to villa will be provided.
Scheduled flights by Virgin Atlantic and British Airways as well as many other airlines. I am a regular traveller and always use Dollar for carhire and have never had a problem with them.

“High-end accomodation in a great location” This was our second visit to Herom's Retreat, and we would be very happy to re-visit in the future. Henry's home is well-furnished and excellently equipped, and the accomodation is nicely presented in an ideally relaxing location from which to visit the many attractions in the Orlando area. Henry is a very considerate renter who shows his visitors every courtesy and accomodation, from the initial enquiry, through the booking procedure, to the welcome basket of groceries, to the subsequent 'care' call. We would not hesitate to recommend Herom's Retreat to anyone prepared to spend that little bit extra for up-market accomodation. Response: Thank you for these comments. I do know that this is a special holiday for everyone staying and to make sure it is memorable for the right reasons by making everyone feel welcome so they have a wonderful time. I try to be as accommodating as possibble - After all I would like you to come back which you have done.

Our favourite part of the house was the swimming pool, where we spent hours enjoying the pool as well as the sun. We also enjoyed being near Disney and also being very close to the local restaurants. We stayed in Heroms Retreat. We are a family with two boys 10 and 14 years.We had a fantastic holiday. Cumbrian Lakes is a beautiful community. There is also a lake, which the boys and my husband enjoyed fishing in and yes there is an alligator so you have to be careful.

The house was very clean and spacious. Everything we needed was provided. We liked to eat in the morning outside by the pool. Because it was screened so we had no bother from insects etc.. We all loved the pool and spa. We also used the gas-BBQ and put some New York strip on it what we bought at the Publix supermarket not very far from the villa.

In the evening reading a book outside by the pool, without mosquitoes. The computer was also very handy to stay in touch with the family at home [Skype] or the wireless internet and to use our Ipad.
The community is not far from all the attractions.
We had a great time and can highly recommend the villa to others.
You would not be disappointed and will love it like we did. .

Our stay at your home last week was very relaxing and enjoyable.  The layout of the house with full baths in three of the bedrooms provided comfort, convenience, and privacy.

Having treated ourselves two years ago to a two-week holiday in Henry's Cumbrian Lakes house, we couldn't resist a return visit when we chose to re-visit the Orlando area.

Herom's Retreat is well-located, situated on the quiet, gated community of Cumbrian Lakes, being a short drive from Orlando International Airport, and within 15 minutes from the various Disney attractions.

Henry makes every effort to make you feel at home, and we were greeted with a 'welcome hamper' which provided us with some basic essentials to see us through till the next day's trip to the local (5/10 minutes) supermarket. Henry telephoned the next day to check that we had arrived safely and were happy with the accommodation, and we also later received a courtesy call from the Florida rental management company.

The house has well-appointed accommodation, with a lovely master-bed suite, nicely furnished bedrooms and very flexible living-spaces. It's obvious that Henry is always looking to upgrade the fixtures/fititngs/equipment, and we noticed that several televisions have been replaced with flat-screen models since our previous visit. We all very much enjoyed the pool area when seeking some relaxation and respite from the theme-parks, and the teenagers made good use of the wi-fi internet access to keep in contact with friends back in England. We found that we dined-in as often as we ate out, and everything that we could possibly have needed in the kitchen was found !

We have just returned from a two week family holiday in Henry and Rebecca's lovely Floridian villa and are happy to commend it.

Cumbrian Lakes is a settled, and attractive, gated community and well positioned for theme parks, dining opportunities, road links and shopping.
The house is extremely well equipped (especially the kitchen), and contains many personal touches.
We all loved the pool area and the fact that it backs onto a delightful conservation area, which guarantees privacy.
The t.v's, games room and other facilities (eg. computer, Wii, Game Box) all offer relaxation for the whole family.
Henry and Rebecca went out of their way to ensure that our stay in their house would be memorable.

This was the fourth time we’ve rented a vacation home in Orlando (Kissimmee), Florida and I can honestly say this was the best of the four houses, by far. It is very spacious and has all the amenities you can think of, including entertainment features to allow for pleasant, relaxing days when not visiting the Theme Parks. The décor is well appointed and the furniture comfortable. It is set up to comfortably sleep 10 adults. This will definitely be our first choice the next time we vacation in the Orlando area.
