The Florida / Orlando Disney Area
As well as the fun of the Theme Parks and Water Parks, in Orlando, you are never far away from a golf course or a sandy beach.
The climate ranges from mild UK spring-like temperatures in winter through to hot and humid days in the height of summer. Spring (March to May) High temperatures in the upper 80°f, cooler evenings. Lows of possible 50°f. Plenty of sunshine but spring showers are common. Summer (June to September) Daily temperatures to high 90°f. Strong sunshine; average lows of 70°f. Late afternoon thunderstorms usually last only an hour. Visit attractions early to avoid midday heat. Return in the evening to enjoy the extended summer hours and the evening firework displays. Autumn (October to Mid December) Ideal weather with high 80°f. Lows around 60°f. Abundant sunshine with some thunderstorms. Winter (Mid December to February) Cooler temperatures, especially between late December through to January. Average High 70°f, evening low around 55°f.
Kissimmee / Rolling Hills at Formosa area
At Rolling Hills you're never very far away from fun and excitement. All the magic of Disney World theme parks are less than ten minutes drive. The Kennedy Space Centre, Universal Studios, Seaworld and Busch Gardens, beautiful beaches on the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic coast are only a short distance away. There are superb malls, supermarkets, takeaways and dozens of restaurants almost on your doorstep.
Some owner recommendations: Attraction tickets can be bought here in the UK at most travel agents or the Disney Store but there are numerous outlets in Kissimmee where tickets can be purchased and at the tourist information office at Downtown Disney.
Car hire is available at both airports from Dollar and Alamo car rental companies. We strongly recommend that you pre-book your car hire in the U.K. to save time and inconvenience when you arrive in Florida. Remember to take your driving licence together with your passport
As for places to eat we frequently go to Carrabbas, an Italian restaurant near the shopping mall on highway 192 and Bahama Breeze, on International Drive.
How to get there
Direct flights are available from Manchester and Gatwick to Orlando International Airport and Orlando Sanford airport. Flying time is approx.9 hours outbound and 8 hours return. Orlando International Airport is approx.15 miles from the Villa and caters mainly for scheduled airline flights whilst Orlando Sanford is approx. 35 miles from the Villa and handles a number of charter airlines.
