The Orkney Isles region

Laingbrae Cottage is 5 minutes walk from the town centre of Kirkwall. Kirkwall is the main town in Orkney but there are many more beautiful areas to explore. Kirkwall has all the main facilities you would expect in a small town e.g. library, swimming pool, cinema, sports centre etc. Individual and boutique type shops selling the best of Orkney's jewellery industry are showcased in Kirkwall. The main shopping area has everything you need all on one street including a small supermarket, local bakers and local butchers. Large supermarkets Tesco and Lidl are close by.

Kirkwall

Orkney has many fine eating places. Many restaurants include local Orkney produce giving you an opportunity to taste the best of what Orkney has to offer. There are many styles of eateries e.g. Busters (American style dining, 2 Indian Restaurants, Chinese, Italian alongside other more traditional types of restaurants. Fine dining can be offered in the many Hotels in Orkney. Cafes and snack bars are also available. And I cant forget to mention the Orkney Ice Cream!! Orkney prides itself on its high quality seafood and meat which is widely available to buy if you want to cook it yourself.

"First Class holiday accomodation!"

We enjoyed a lovely week in Orkney. The cottage was ideal for a wheelchair user and comfortable in every way.
Graeme and Noreen made us feel very welcome and the personal touches like the Orkney soap, the shortbread, the Orkney fudge all added to the experience.
There are lots of good places to eat in Orkney and interesting places to see.
We are really looking forward to visiting again this summer.

Thank you for your review. We know how difficult it can be for wheelchair users to find good quality accomodation. Glad you found it suited your needs. We appreciate your review as you yourself are a wheelchair user and we hope other people will read this and be reassured. Hope you come again! Thanks for the chocolates they were lovely.
