About the home

This charming cottage is located in the heart of Kirkbymoorside. It offers 3 double bedrooms, 2 with en-suite shower rooms, and a twin bedroom and house bathroom. There is also a games room with pool table and enclosed patio garden. Pets are welcome at no extra charge. The house had been furnished to a very high standard.

Please note that some of the staircases are steep leading to the top floor and so this may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties.

The front door leads into the games room with small pool table and plenty of board games and books. This leads into the open plan sitting room & dining room with patio doors leading to enclosed patio garden with table and chairs and BBQ. The Kitchen is well equipped with washing machine and dishwasher. There is also a downstairs cloakroom.

There are 2 staircases, one leading from the rear of the kitchen up to the twin bedroom and the other staircase leads from the sitting room to the other bedrooms. Please note there is not a door at the top of the stairs to the twin room but there is a door at the bottom.

There is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a second double bedroom on the first floor as well as the twin room and house bathroom. The house bathroom has a lovely large double ended bath, separate shower, wash hand basin and w.c. This bathroom is located between the double bedroom and the twin bedroom and can be accessed via either bedroom.

The final double bedroom and en-suite shower room occupies the whole of the second floor. There are beams and some of the areas of the room have limited height restrictions. For this reason, it has not been possible to put in a wardrobe, however, there is ample wardrobe space in the first floor double bedroom.

The Northern England / Yorkshire/Yorkshire Dales region

The North Yorkshire Moors have so much to offer from walking, bike riding, horse riding, there are many historic places of interest and trips to the coast and York are all within a hours drive.

Helmsley is a lovely market town about 5 miles away. It has a castle a stately home (Duncombe Park) as well as a host of shops and tea rooms as well as two delicatessans.

Pickering is a larger market town, also about 5 miles away were you will find a larger selection of shops and a large supermarket. Pickering is probably best known for it's steam railway.

Whitby is approximately 30 minutes drive along the top of the moors. The City of York is also within driving distance at approximately 45 mins drive.

The surrounding area is ideal for walking, you do not need to venture far before you are deep in the countryside.

The Kirkbymoorside area

Kirbymoorside is a small town between Helmsley and Pickering. You will find a selection of local shops, including a grocery shop as well as a lovely Delicatessan called http://scrumptiousdeli.com/ You can also order from their cottage catering menu, so if you want to eat in one night, but don't want to cook take a look at what they have to offer, or if you are wanting some delicious items for a picnic that's the place to go and it's just up the road.

“Easter Break” Fantastic property, very clean, modern decor through-out, friendly owner, good location & ideal for families!

“Gorgeous cosy cottage in a good location” We stayed here for my dad's 65th birthday ( 6 adults, 2 children and 1 dog) The cottage is beautifully decorated and very well set out, the games room is excellent for keeping the kids entertained! The welcome pack was also a nice little touch. We especially loved the open fire, it was very cosy and kept us toasty in the evenings! Cottage is in a good location for local attractions, we did Scarborough and Whitby which took less than an hour by car. Fantastic little get away, we will definately be returning!

“Excellent house, great location.” Warm welcome and tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine!!! Thanks. Lovely spacious house in a great location. beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. Great well equipped kitchen. Friendly market town with shops, banks, takeaways and pubs just up the road. Plenty of on street parking.
