Garden with patio & furniture. Storage area for bikes/hiking gear. Sorry, no smoking. 2 well-behaved pets welcome. Shop 6 miles, pub 3 miles. Note: No TV channels. Note: Water supplied from fell; safe for washing but brown in appearance & can taste “peaty”; please bring own bottled water for drinking. Note: Cottage accessed via 500 yard long track - access difficult in very snowy/icy/wet conditions. Note: Due to intermittent WiFi signal in the property, guests are welcome to use WiFi at The Kings Head pub in Ravenstonedale.

The Kirkby Stephen / Ravenstonedale area
Set at the foot of the Howgill Fells is the tranquil village of Ravenstonedale, situated between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. This rural village is a thriving local community and still retains many of its traditional buildings including a Parish church and the remains of an old Gilbertine Priory. Hill farming remains the primary source of income throughout the area and an agricultural show is still held once a year. The area offers many walking and cycling trails through outstanding countryside, whilst the village itself was once described by the famous author, A. Wainwright, as one of Westmorland's loveliest villages. Visitors can enjoy the Settle to Carlisle Railway Line or the magnificent Howgill Fells in addition to the stunning Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks.

Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
