This beautiful riverside apartment with mountain views is furnished to a high standard combining modern appliances, and a traditional Austrian dining set. Accommodating 4 people in a double bedroom, and spacious double sofa bed, this apartment is the perfect base for your holiday. Also has 6 MBps WIFI broadband on request.

Situated on the main border road from Italy, we are in an excellent location for winter skiing and snowboarding in the Nassfeld Ski Arena. With a free ski bus taking you directly to the Millenium Express gondola, you have easy access to some of the best snow in Carinthia!

During summer, the apartment is ideally situated for a variety of outdoor activities including; Golf, hiking, horse-riding, tennis, paragliding, mountain biking, archery, fishing and cycling, all of which can be enjoyed amongst stunning mountain scenery.

For 2009 there is a brand new 18 hole golf course directly in Kirchbach. There are many other outdoor activiies, including a solar heated outdoor swimming pool in the village with a pizzeria restaurant also in the grounds..

Lake Pressergersee is nearby which offers many summer and winter activities. The lake reaches temperatures of 28 degrees in the summer, and the water is so pure all year round that you can drink from it. Thee local main town is Hermagor which has lots of shops and restaurants.

The Austrian Alps / Salzburgerland / Carinthia region

The apartment is ideally situated in a small village in Carinthia close to the Italian and Slovenian Borders. This part of Austria is the sunniest part of the Alps, with summer temperatures matching those in the Mediterranean.
In winter it is transformed into a Winter Wonderland, with snowcapped mountains and clear blue skies.

We are in the local vacinity of Hermagor, Lake Pressergersee and the Nassfeld Ski Arena. Hermagor has lots of shops and restaurants, including a Chinese Restaraunt. Facilities on the lake during the summer, include watersports, boating and fishing. In the winter the lake is frozen and you can ice-skate on it,there is even a bar in the middle to entice you on, and to give you Dutch Courage to skate back!

A Golf Course is currently being built in the village of Kirchbach, which should be ready by 2009.

The famous rare Wulfenia flower blooms in this region in the beautiful Gailtal Valley. It can only be found here and in the Himalayan Moutains. The flower is traditonally embroidered on Austrian National Dress.

We are on the borders of Slovenia and Italy if you fancy a day trip to another country. There is even a duty free shop off one of the motorways where you can stop for bargains.

Kirchbach / Nassfeld area

Kirchbach is situated in the beautiful Gailtal Valley,named after the local church. The facilities in the village include a post office, 2 banks, a spar supermarket, cafe, doctor, vet, taxicab, cash point machine and tourist information office. Local Gastofs also provide meals. There is a pizzeria 5 minutes walk from the apartment which offers an open air swimming pool in the summer months. The village is small and quiet but ideally located in between all the local ski regions.

The ski arena Nassfeld has110km of fantastic pistes for all abilities and boasts a half pipe and snowboard park. There is apres ski either on the mountain or at the foot of the Gondola, especially in Tropolach, which is about 5-10 minutes away by car/taxi. There is also nightime floodlit ski-ing. We are lucky that we have a long ski season that starts in November up until end of April.

How to get there

Ryan Air operate a budget service to Klagenfurt airport which is approximately 1 hours drive from Kirchbach. Salzburg airport is 2.5 hours away. We can arrange airport pick-ups from Klagenfurt at small extra cost.

Thomson fly operate to Salzburg from Manchester/Gatwich/Bournemouth/Coventry and Doncaster Sheffield.

Bmi Baby, Jet 2 and Skyeurope.com fly to Salzburg and Venice.

Venice is 2 hours drive away and Ryanair, fly there from Stansted.

Lublijana in Slovenia is 1 hour away, Ryanair fly there from Stansted.

Car hire is available and local airports and Klagenfurt especially is very easy to arrange.

The apartment has one bedroom which sleeps 2 people. The separate living area also has a large comfortable sofa bed for 2 people. The stylish kitchen/dining area has modern appliances and traditional Austrian style dining furniture with seating for 6 people. There are patio doors that open onto the balcony.

Apartment 2 is large and bright with 2 separate bedrooms, large sofa bed in living room, Separate dining kitchen for up to 6, and dining table for 8 in living room. It has a large TV, DVD player, selection of 40 movies and selection of games for children. We also provide a sony PS2 in separate games area.


The kitchen is fully equipped for a self catering holiday, with fridge, cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee perculator, toaster, kettle and microwave. The living area has a superb large screen digital tv, with dvd player and a cd player for music. We provide a Sony Playstation with several games for children. The small compact bathroom is wet room style with a modern shower.

We can provide a high chair and travel cot for bables on request. We welcome smokers, (on the balcony only please) and pets, dog beds can also be provided.

Kirchbach has a spar shop within 5 minutes walk of the apartment, a cafe and pizzeria which offers a selection of menus and takeaway pizza.. Local Gastofs also provide evening meals.

We can provide airport pickup from Klagenfurt or Salzburg at an extra cost.

The apartment is situated above the Schlecker store, on the main road in Kirchbach. The store sells toiletries cleaning products, baby care products, pet food, cosmetics and a large range of other goods.

There is a secure garage for 2 cars or several motorbikes and ample off road parking at the side of the property.

The apartment has a balcony overlooking the river and mountains.

We are happy to accept short term rentals of 3 days or more in quiet times in the season. We will also consider long term lets in the summer months. We are flexible on changeover days.

The rates are Euros per apartment per week, not per person.

Please contact for Rates for Apartment 2, accomodates up to 8 people....Winter Ski for 8 is 900 euros per week in total. We give different rates for smaller groups.

We require a non-refundable booking deposit of 150 euro.

We are happy to accept well behaved pets for which we charge 20 Euros per pet per week.

All prices include heating, electricity, linens, towels, tourist tax and final cleaning cost.
