About the home

Eden Garden Villa is set in four acres of secluded garden and olive grove with panoramic views of the Souli mountain range. Stay in a romantic setting, enjoy the delights of the Ionian coast and explore the land of myths and legends. Eden Garden Villa is centrally situated for enjoying mainy beautiful Epirus beaches lapped by the clear blue waters of the Ionian sea. Alternatively, Eden Garden Villa offers an opportunity to spend lazy days on the sun terraces alongside the large pool, enjoying the wonderful views. You could even pick your own grapes whilst lying on your sunbed.

Set in the stunning Acheron valley, in the village of Kipseli, there are many places of historical and natural interest within easy travelling distance, some within walking distance. This is also the ideal location for those wishing to step back in time and explore some of the many wonders of ancient Greece.

The air-conditioned apartment has a lounge, a fitted kitchen/dining room, bathroom and two bedrooms, one of which is a separate self contained en suite studio, with its own entrance,

You can enjoy al-fresco dining as you watch the mountains change colour at sunset.

Set in a large secluded garden against a backdrop of olive trees, complete with its own pool over 11 metres long and 5 metres wide exclusively for Eden Garden Villa, shared with owners. Six easy steps into the pool (NOT a ladder)
Outdoor tables and chairs, sunbeds and sun umbrellas.
A garden retreat planted with fruit bearing trees, shrubs and flowers, which is peaceful and serene.
Enjoy reading, swimming or indulging in your favourite hobby such as painting and drawing; or watching the bird life in the garden with the occasional visit by a stork! Buzzards can be seen virtually everyday.
The garden is also home to the local native tortoises, which come and go as they please.

The Mainland Greece region

The Ionian Coast of Epirus has many beautiful beaches, such as Parga, Ammoudia and Loutsa, combined with spectacular mountains, lush green valleys and river gorges.

There are many fascinating sites of archeological, historical and natural interest,

Ideal location for exploring further afield such as the islands of Lefkada, Ithaca and Corfu or visiting Zagoria and Metiora.

A pleasant climate with temperatures ranging from 24 degs in May to 30 degs in August, average daily sunshine of 10 hours in May and 12 hours in August.

The Kipseli area

Kipseli is a pretty Greek village, which has a taverna, three traditional Greek coffee shops, one of which sells basic items and a bakery. Your main shopping can be in Kanallaki, a small town 5 miles away, where you will find a good selection of shops and supermarkets.

Ammoudia is an unspoilt 700 metre long stretch of sand flanked by a eucalyptus grove. Alongside the quay you will find many cafes and tavernas. There are fishing boats and also excursion boats offering trips up river, where you can see enchanting butterflies electric blue dragonflies and terrapins.

Photogenic Parga has three beaches, a small harbour with seafront tavernas and a Venetian castle offering panoramic views of the waterfont, mountains and Ionian islands.

Glyki gorge is one delight not to be missed, being only 3 miles away it is easy to reach by car or bicycle. Here the River Acheron cuts deep into the rock strata carving its way through the gorge. The river also offers the opportunity to enjoy white water rafting, canoeing or kayacking. All of which can be hired locally. If you enjoy horse riding or pony trekking you may wish to take time to ride through the gorge, which is unspoilt, refreshing and wonderfully relaxing. There are several local tavernas offering traditional Greek hospitality.

At Dodoni, which mythology links to Jason and the Argonauts, the sanctuary includes a spectacular Classical theatre; at Ephyra the remains of a Necromanteion (oracle of the dead) was touted by the ancients as the gateway to the after-life. Kassopi and Nikopolis are impressive for their location and size.

Direct flights to Preveza. Airlines flying to Preveza include Thomson (www.thomson.co.uk ), Monarch, First Choice and Thomas Cook.
Cheapflights.co.uk offer a good selection of flights.

We have also found Dial-a-Flight very useful. Tel. 01732 593196 ( www.dialaflight.com )
Followed by a leisurely 30 mile drive in a hire car ( www.hertz.co.uk and www.europcar.com ) or taxi.

Alternatively visitors have also arrived via Corfu. Taking a short taxi ride (about 10 euros) to the port and catching a ferry to Igoumenitsa, picking up the hire car on the main land. Both Europcar and Euro Car offices are opposite the ferry terminal.
In addition, travelling via Athens or Thessalonica has also been popular

Ferries to Igoumenitsa from Corfu and also Ancona, Bari, Brindisi or Venice in Italy.

BY ROAD
An easy drive following the coastal highway, approximately 30 miles from Preveza and 25 miles from Igoumenitsa.
