Set in 5 acres of private grounds, woodland and paddocks with sea views across to the islands of Cara, Islay, and Gigha, Balure is the perfect spot for extended families or groups to explore Kintyre.
The property has recently been lovingly renovated to a high standard with wifi throughout. There are 4 reception rooms, large boot/dog room with under-floor heating and a new fitted kitchen with large electric range cooker. Five bedrooms and two bedrooms have en-suite facilities, families with babies are provided for with cots and highchair included.
Within the grounds of the property is Balure Games Lodge, a Norwegian log cabin with full size pool table and table tennis. The exterior decking is perfect for evening drinks whilst watching the stunning sunsets over the Paps of Jura.
Balure House was built in 1871 as a Dower house for the Macdonalds of Largie who have been in Kintyre since 1482. The Archbishop of Canterbury, Cosmo Lang was a close friend of John Moreton Macdonald, 12th Laird of Largie family and used Balure as his holiday home in Scotland. Balure is still an original Macdonald family home.

Leaving the beautiful Loch Lomond, head out towards the historic town of Inverary, admire the castle before travelling on to Lochgilphead and following Loch Fyne to Tarbert, the seafood village of Kintyre.
Leaving Tarbert travel south on the A83 towards Campbletown, through the villages of Whitehouse and Clachan.
Balure House is just 15 mins from Tarbert along the Kintyre coast and opposite the islands of Islay, Gigha and Cara.
Follow in the footsteps of St Columba and discover the ancient, historic and unspoilt land and coastline of magical Kintyre.
Visit seafood festivals, music festivals, Springbank Whisky distillery, Machrihanish Golf courses. Try the Kintyre Seatours and visit the islands of Gigha and Arran, day trips to Inverary Castle or Oban.

"A West coast gem"
If you want a Scottish break to remember then Balure House has everything you need. Surrounded by breath taking land and seascapes the house can be found nestled 200 yards from the road in amongst a beautiful woodland. The house caters for all, the interior is finished to a very high standard with plenty of space for everyone to relax. The social areas of the house a ideal for home cooking and long evening meals with friends, a home from home.
The house is very spacious, the outside patio is ideal for BBQs and lounging and the extra games cabin away from the house is a perfect area to drink some beers and have some competitive table tennis games!
The house is well equipped for every eventuality and i can't recommend it enough, i shall certainly be returning, truly stunning location. Thank you Angus and Rebecca, you went out of your way to make the weekend special.
