The County Cork region

Located on the south westerly coast of Ireland, Cork is the largest of all Irish counties. Immersed in over 4,000 years of history, Cork gives the chance for visitors to be part of a unique and abounding cultural legacy.

County Cork offers an extensive choice of things to do for all people; the bustling, friendly streets of Cork City, to the rugged beauty of the most southerly Munster coastline, to the holiday ambience of East Cork and the serenity and charm of North Cork. The whole region is a place of uniqueness waiting to be discovered and enjoyed.

Kinsale

Kinsale is located about 25km south of Cork City, on the Coast. Kinsale is a popular tourist resort and is famous for a wide variety of gourmet restaurants.

There are many opportunities in around the town for angling, boating, lake fishing, water sports, playing tennis and golf (inc. pitch and putt), pony trekking, heading to the beach, walks through forests and scenic countryside. The River Bandon estuary also enters the Irish sea in Kinsale and the famous Carlton Hotel is less than 8km away.

"Barley View says it all!"

My husband, myself, and our two adult children spent a week at Barley View this past May. The rental was very clean and appeared as in the online pictures. Mary graciously met us and showed us the 'ropes.' We wish there had been additional seating and lighting in the main living area; it was difficult for the 4 of us to be comfortable in this space at the same time. The bedrooms and baths were very good and we really liked the sit-in kitchen area. Parking was in the complex and directions from the Cork airport were easy to follow. It was a 10 minute walk to Kinsale (going down to the town much easier than walking back up, but that walk helped keep the pounds off from the Guiness!). We thoroughly enjoyed this rental as the first stop in our travels around Ireland!
